It was an honour to represent the WA Centre for Perinatal & Parenting Support at the launch of Gidget Foundation Australia’s 32nd Gidget House, and the first location in Western Australia, Stockland Harrisdale yesterday with Meghann Flint. Gidget House-Harrisdale was officially opened by Dr. Sophie Davison, the Australian Government Chief Psychiatrist. Kylianne Farrell shared her personal story and lived experience with those in attendance including representatives from the WA Primary Health Alliance - WAPHA (WAPHA), the Mental Health Commission of Western Australia, City of Armadale and other local service providers. Congratulations Arabella Gibson and the Gidget team on a successful event and providing vital support to the South East Metro region.

The annual 16 Days in WA – Stop Violence Against Women campaign takes place from 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, to 10 December, Human Rights Day. Now in its sixth year, 16 Days in WA draws inspiration from the global movement for 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-based Violence to drive a change in culture, behaviour and attitudes that lead to violence against women and their children. https://lnkd.in/gkwJbh_j 🧡Help and support is available Support is available if you or someone you know is experiencing family and domestic violence. 🌟 Women's Health and Wellbeing Services is now listed on Motherland Connect to enable us to reach and support women throughout Australia! 🌟 This incredible platform has only been running for a few months and is already connecting over 100 organisations across categories like mental health, relationships, pregnancy and birth support, allied health, fitness, nutrition, parenting support, and more. Our partnership with Motherland began this year, and we’re proud to currently be supporting 10 rural and remote Mums access counselling through our Telehealth services. Our sister organisation WA Centre for Perinatal & Parenting Support supports parents, children & families with access to face to face and Telehealth counselling sessions & in person groups and workshops in WA. #MotherlandConnect #Telehealth #SupportingMums #RuralCommunities

💜🌟 Gratitude Post 🌟💜 We are incredibly grateful to Gosnells Financial Services Limited for their invaluable support this year in helping us provide mental health services for women, children, and families in our local community, who would have otherwise gone without. With their generous funding we have provided 50 individual clients with counselling sessions, enabling us to deliver an impressive 585 subsidised sessions! Last night, we were honoured to attend the Community Impact & Networking Event at the Gosnells Golf Club WA and were lucky enough to receive a BONUS donation, which will further our mission. On the back of our successful ADHD and Women seminar last weekend, we are excited to announce our final Mental Health Professionals' Network meeting for 2024. Providers of perinatal and infant mental health services are welcomed to join WA Centre for Perinatal & Parenting Support for a free presentation on “Parenting with an ADHD diagnosis” from Dr Michele Toner OAM. Michele has been supporting people with ADHD since 1995. She became the first ADHD coach in Australia in 2009 and in 2024 became the first Australian ADHD coach to hold the credential of Master Certified Coach (MCC) with the International Coaching Federation (ICF). She is a senior faculty member of the ADD Coach Academy in New York where she trains and mentors ADHD coaches. She is committed to supporting and promoting well qualified ADHD coaches and is has mentored over 100 Australian coaches to this end. She has held board positions with ICF Australasia and is the convenor of the ICF’s monthly ADHD Coaching Forum. In addition to her coaching, Michele works passionately to promote ADHD Awareness and Advocacy. She held inaugural board positions for ADHD Australia, and The Australian Association of ADHD Professionals (AADPA). She is Chair of the Board at ADHD WA and member of their Professional Advisory Body. In 2017 she co-authored “The ADHD Go-to-Guide” with Professor Desiree Silva. Their book has since been translated into Japanese. Michele was awarded an OAM in 2021 for her work in the ADHD space.
