  • Not all pipes in a water network will or do require a class IV solution. There are a range of problems you can solve with a class I, II, or III relining. Class IV is not the only way to rehabilitate and extend the life of in-situ assets. WPS are the certified Resiline 320 distributor and applicators for AU/NZ and we are always here to answer any of your questions.

Ask the Professor? Question: What is the technical envelope for Resiline 320? Response: Resiline 320 has an 8-hour recoat window and a 60-minute return to service, without the need for flushing with gallons of clean water. A Resiline 320 liner, ranging from 1 to 14mm in thickness, can be applied to pipes with diameters from 6 to 42 inches, allowing for same-day or next-day return to service. Resiline 320 offers outstanding short and long-term mechanical properties, enabling quick construction of AWWA CLASS I to IV liners with minimal public and business disruption, and without needing a temporary water bypass. To select the appropriate AWWA liner class, owners or engineers must define performance requirements, assess the host pipe's deterioration, and identify potential failure modes, such as corrosion holes or ring fractures. For water quality and asset life extension, an AWWA CLASS I to III Resiline 320 liner is a cost-effective choice. If the host pipe exhibits minimal external and/or internal corrosion and breaks, then a CLASS I to III Resiline 320 would be a highly cost-effective option. Hosts pipes that are leaking and severely corroded (steel and thin-walled ductile iron) or have a high annual ring break history (i.e., Cast and Asbestos Cement) may require a CLASS IV liner or replacement of the main. Since most pipes in a water main network will not meet these Class IV requirements, significant cost, time, and public disruption savings can be achieved by installing a Resiline 320 Class II or III liner. Contact SIPP Americas to learn more about our high-quality resins and cost-effective pipe rehabilitation solutions, including the potential use of Resiline 320 for your upcoming projects. We are also seeking additional qualified applicators who are committed to effectively addressing leaks and enhancing the longevity of water pipes.

  • Very insightful reading, with 40,000km of asbestos cement (AC) assets currently in service in Australia, all in areas of differing total water hardness. It makes sense to address this issue and also consider options to minimise the concentration of asbestos fibres in drinking water. Both Resiline 320 & Rädlinger Primus Line are AS/NZS4020:2018 approved products for contact with drinking water and are both excellent & rapid options to extend the useful life of the asset and create a barrier between the AC and the water at the same time. It is a sure-fire way to eliminate the concentration of fibres in the networks, reduce asbestos exposure and reduce capital expenditure. Where there’s a Wilson, there’s a way. #trenchless

We have completed a project investigating the levels of asbestos fibres in drinking water that had passed through asbestos cement (AC) pipes. In response to the recommendations from a 2021 report by the World Health Organisation, ASSEA partnered with the research team from Deakin University to undertake this project. Drinking water from a location in regional Victoria was examined, and it was revealed that asbestos fibres were not detected in any of the water samples. In consultation with our working group, we may examine the water from AC pipes in other locations for the presence of asbestos fibres in the future. Read more - https://lnkd.in/gkn9mfNz

At SIPP Americas public safety is Number 1. Below are the reason why we use Resiline 320 to rehabilitate potable watermains. 1) Potable Water Certified/Approved: NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 UK Drinking Water Inspectorate Reg 31 (4)(a) British Standard 6920: 2014 /WRAS approved as Site Applied Material Australia and New Zealand 4020:2018 Singapore SS375 2) BPA, VOC, PFOS, PFOA and Pre-Fluorinated substance free. 3) Moisture intolerance, crucial for drinking water pipe rehabilitation. 4) The material has high in-service wet strength. Therefore, it maintains its structural integrity by not absorbing water over time - with no protective coating layer. 5) Demonstrates superior adhesion to the host pipe, with minimal shrinkage due to the low cure exotherm. 6) The service can resume following a 60-minute curing period without the necessity of water flushing. This approach conserves clean potable water, reduces waste production, lowers greenhouse gas emissions, and minimizes both project costs and duration, thereby reducing disruptions to the public and businesses.  7) Same-day return to service is achievable without the need for constructing and maintaining a disruptive and costly temporary bypass water system.

  • 🚨Exciting update🚨 We have been working hard in the background with Urban Utilities to get Resiline 320 in the ground and really showcase the benefits of providing a structural enhancement to existing assets for a fraction of the cost of replacement. Creating a more for less process. Using Resiline 320, we can extend the operational life cycle of exisiting pipes for 50 years, providing improved hydraulic capacity, improved water quality, minimal reduction in diameter all whilst offering a same day return to service. We are thankful for the opportunity to work with Urban Utilites and grateful to be surrounded by teams of people willing to put the spotlight on innovative alternatives for mains renewal in the potable water space that are currently available for application in Australia and New Zealand. Amid all the buzz about artificial intelligence and robotics, we’re excited to introduce you to our own little marvel: a 'wheeled wonder with a spray can' that’s transforming how we reline our water mains! Resiline 320 is innovative technology that zips through water pipes, spraying a quick-curing lining that extends their life and reduces bursts and leaks.  This means our customers get reliable, world-class water at their tap every day. And unlike the traditional way to reline a pipe – digging it out of the ground - it's quick and minimally disruptive, taking just a few days instead of weeks and sparing streets, footpaths and nature strips from major excavations.  We're excited about the potential of this clever little robot re-liner! We were recently invited by Urban Utilities to participate in their quarterly CEO innovation hour to discuss the research and development and findings that went into making our large diameter Resiline 320 trial a great success. It was a fantastic experience to present our journey, along with the challenges we faced and how we overcame them, working together with the best in business SCHUR-BPH Innovation for the future. Who were on hand to help develop 3D printed cones to test capabilities of design and calibrate speeds and detailed rig settings to make it all possible, by doing this we were able to reach a goal of a solid alloy cone to get the job done. We are grateful to be able to work alongside Urban Utilities who are passionate about innovation and allow us to push the boundaries of trenchless renewal technologies. From starting with them in 2021 on a DN100mm AC water main to working with them today on DN1295 PCCP. If you look on the front fender of our TR4 trolley, you will see our 100mm air motor and cone set up in comparison to our 1295mm set up. A big thank you to everyone involved along way. It’s one we won’t forget! Where there’s a Wilson. There’s a way.

    Managing Director @ SCHUR-BPH | Over 42 Years Experience

All done over in the USA, 2km of 450mm (18”) diameter Potable water pipeline coated with a 6mm thick lining of #Resiline320 The problem The Steel reinforced concrete pipe was never commissioned from new due to internal defects on the pipe wall. Equipment used One of our SR1000 SIPP lining rigs with some of our latest innovations: * AVOS * Non contact flow meters * “Smart check” weight check system Lining material Resiline 320 a NSF approved high quality lining with a verifiable 50 year design life, losing little of its strength over its design life. Solution * Pipe was scrapped * Pipe was flushed * Defects were addressed * Pipe was lined with a 6mm thick semi-structural layer of 320. Lining lengths Lining lengths up to 165m between excavations were achieved. Our thanks to our USA partner who worked professionally and competently throughout the whole process, proving joint ventures can work well when all parties work as a team, well done to all. #schurbph #pipecoating #pipelinecoating #innovation #SIPP #SR1000 #SR2000 #SR3000
