Last Thursday, we hosted our Annual Private Client Lunch with JLL and our exclusive media partner Ready Media Group. In a room of 400 attendees, keynote speaker Geoff Harris – an entrepreneur and philanthropist – shared his remarkable journey and the power of embracing uncertainty to drive real business value. Our panel featuring Jane Kelly (Urbis), Christopher Lucas (LUCAS Restaurants), and Lord Mayor Nick Reece tackled the big questions facing Victoria today, sparking honest discussions about challenges, opportunities, and the path to making our state thrive. Together, we raised $14,600 for the Pancare Foundation, helping to support families, raise awareness, and fund research into upper GI cancers. A huge thank you to our prize sponsors: Travelcall, Levantine Hill Estate, and LUCAS Restaurants. Karin Mowlem, CFA Mark Harrison Josh Rutman Andy Ridings Emily Taverna Jarinda Wilson

Wingate launched its first Corporate Credit Fund (WCCF1) in August 2020 and in August 2024, the fund’s final investment was fully repaid, delivering net annualised returns of ~11.2% p.a. for investors (pre-tax, post all fees and expenses) and surpassing the initial 10% target return. “The Wingate Corporate Credit Funds provide our co-investors with access to attractive mid-market, secured credit opportunities across Australia and New Zealand” said Selwyn Schroeder, Wingate’s Corporate Investment Managing Director. “The success of WCCF1 further validates our track record and capacity to manage credit through the cycle.” Looking ahead, Selwyn added, “We are preparing to launch the Wingate Corporate Horizon Fund, an evergreen, open-ended fund focused on direct lending and structured credit. This new fund will provide co-investors with access to a diversified portfolio of corporate and specialised lending opportunities, targeting returns of 1-month BBSW + 6% p.a. (pre-tax, net of all fees and expenses).” Read more below and for important information https://lnkd.in/ghD5TbBs Daniel Shap Elliott Richardson Dexter Grogan Sam Cohen Corey Dawson Daniel Max

Recently, some of our team members used their annual volunteering day to support local organisations making a real impact. In Sydney, our team joined Foodbank Victoria to help pick and pack orders in their distribution centre, aiding in the fight against hunger and supporting vulnerable communities. Meanwhile, our Melbourne team partnered with Ready Set, setting up for a fundraising clothing sale, with proceeds going towards providing life-changing support – clothing, coaching, and connection – for those facing employment challenges. A big thank you to everyone who dedicated their time and energy to make a difference. It is with great sadness and a very heavy heart that we learned that our friend and colleague, Joel Rembach, succumbed to his courageous fight with Oesophageal Cancer on 22 October 2024. Joel joined Wingate in September 2022, making an instant impact as he built out our new Technology team and spearheaded the delivery of our technology platforms to change our business for the better. His passion for all things technology was evident immediately, but far beyond the inspirational leadership and contribution he brought to Wingate, Joel endeared himself to all of us through his love for people. Joel would regularly be found in the kitchen talking to anyone and everyone about any number of topics, particularly those pursuits he held dearly, including cricket, football, travel with his family, movie making, music festivals, giving to the community via his numerous volunteer roles, and, of course, his progress towards completing the Melbourne half-marathon this time last year, just weeks prior to his diagnosis. His loss is a devastating blow to not just us but friends, colleagues, both past and present, community members and above all, his family. Joel will be deeply missed by all of us here at Wingate and well beyond, may he rest in peace.
