In honour of International Volunteer Day, we are ending the week off by shining a spotlight on one of our incredible volunteers, Ally Kemp. Ally is our Communications Intern and she is doing an incredible job supporting our Communications Committee. Commemorated annual on 5 December, International Volunteer Day is a time to acknowledge the remarkable contributions of volunteers and their profound impact across Australia and the world. Volunteering Australia CEO, Mark Pearce says: “Each act of kindness and dedication creates meaningful connections and reminds us of what’s possible when we come together to make a difference.’’ At WiAD, we are deeply thankful to all of our volunteers who share their time and expertise to support the work that we do as an organisation. ✨✨✨ #WiadVolunteers #InternationalVolunteerDay #Womeninaid #Womenindevelopment #WomenLeaders #Volunteering

Celebrating, supporting and inspiring all women who work in or aspire to work in international aid and development.
About us
Women in Aid & Development (WiAD) is an Australian-based membership organisation for all women who work in, or aspire to work in, the international aid, development and humanitarian sectors, inclusive of trans women and non-binary people. It was established by women working in the sector who believe there is much to be gained by meeting and learning from our professional women peers. We commit to supporting other women to succeed in their careers, to continue to learn to be the best versions of ourselves and to embrace challenges and opportunities. We believe we will grow alongside other women to have a more significant and positive impact on our world. Women are welcome from all disciplines to share knowledge and experience and gain insight and inspiration from others and to learn what everyone else does. Aid and development depend on cooperation and teamwork to achieve success, both within organisations and between organisations, and we know women are leaders in cooperating. We welcome you to join us at an event, as a member of our organisation or to make a contribution online. Whether you work in programs, policy, finance, fundraising, human resources, administration, and are new to the sector, a team leader, manager or board member - we all learn from each other. Join the online community - contribute, read the blog and join our community of leaders on Facebook.
