Accountant position @ leading Pediatric hospital ( The Royal Children's Hospital) - AO51-AO55 ($92k- $102k) + Super +ADO + Salary Packaging benefit
Parental leave cover position - 12 months
The role is to provide key support to the day-to-day operations of our Finance Department and in support of a wide range of functions (including taxation, internal control/external audit, reconciliations, and other ad-hoc reporting) with an emphasis on assisting with the processes that contribute to General ledger integrity,
Main duties
Perform monthly general ledger reconciliations. Proactively manage and ensure accounts are transparent and ‘clean’ by performing detailed analysis on movements month-to-month/comparative between financial years. This includes timely identification and resolution on any discrepancies/variances by liaising with various finance officers and business units within the hospital.
Perform periodic Fringe Benefits Tax Return and Business Activity Statements with accuracy, providing analysis to period movements, ensure any gaps in process/data is addressed and timely submission to the Australian Taxation Office.
Partake in Year End compliances and audit/reporting needs.
Perform monthly accruals, inventory, income in advance, recharges, prepayment and provisions journals timely and accurately in accordance with RCH Finance month end timetable.
Administrator for RCH banking platforms, ensure that all users in these platforms are active and timely provision on new user creation (when new staff onboard)
Providing support in any year end related duties including liaison with external auditors, financial and legislative regulators
Responsible in maintenance of Income In advance, ensuring the schedule is accurate. The role requires proactive follow ups to ensure old programs are actively addressed.
Maintenance of daily cash flow and monthly rolling forecast, by liaising with various finance officers, directors, and business units’ managers.
Responsible in daily on maintenance of PPF model ensure that the list represents information in general ledger accurately and liaise with billings officers across the organisation to ensure that receipts are allocated on timely basis.
Perform internal spot audit work (including but not limited to Cabcharge) to ensure compliance with RCH policies and procedures
Back up for weekly duplicate payment checks, completed prior to the release of payments via Accounts Payable
