The role & team

We have an opportunity available for a proactive Accountant to join our dynamic Finance team. Reporting directly to the Regional Financial Accounting Manager, you will partner with multiple stakeholders across the wider business and prepare monthly and yearly financial statements for a portfolio of 80 to 90 audiology shared venture stores across Australia and New Zealand.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Ensuring accurate financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliations and the preparation of Profit and Loss statements while collaborating with various teams.
• Conducting accurate bank reconciliations for all store accounts.
• Communicating with store partners and stakeholders to provide accurate data for analysing store performance.
• Assisting the Tax Manager with the completion of year-end tax returns for all stores.
• Leveraging your accounting skills to enhance efficiency and excellence in a dynamic environment.

At Specsavers, we believe in adopting a hybrid approach to support our people and the future of work. When not working from an alternate location, the Accountant will be based at our support office in Port Melbourne.

The skills we are looking for

• Thorough understanding of accounting principles with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders
• Part Qualified / Qualified CPA/CA
• High attention to detail with the ability to provide accurate information for analysis of store performance
• Intermediate excel skills are essential
• A driven and strong team player, with the ability to work to strict deadlines
