TwoScots are partnering with an independent Primary & Secondary education provider based in the Inner Suburbs who are searching for an experienced Accountant to join the team.
About the Role
Reporting into the Business Manager, this role will be assisting the BM with the full end-to-end payroll & finance needs of the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
• Management and processing of end-to-end Accounts Receivable.
• Overseeing Accounts Payable.
• Month end journals and preparation of general ledger reconciliations.
• Preparation and processing of the end-to-end fortnightly payroll, including admin,
STP and management of payroll related queries working with HR Manager.
• Maintain all areas of Accounts for the College including bank account and credit card
reconciliation and capturing of appropriate support (receipts).
• Support the Business Manager in meeting compliance requirements including
BAS/IAS/FBT/ super/Workcover end of period and end of year specific requirements
• Actively identify the improvements in current process and procedures to improve
efficiency and the value of the finance function to the organization.
• Ad Hoc Projects in consultation with the Business Manager.
• Create and present financial documents, including budgets, forecasts, and
performance evaluations. Conduct variance analysis and provide insights for
decision-making.
• Assist in the preparation of policies and other College management documents
• Reception Support when required.
Skills and Experience
• A relevant qualification with experience in financial and payroll administration.
• Proficiency in accounting software (experience with Xero is highly desirable).
• Proficient in the use of financial software as well as the Microsoft applications
including, Word (intermediate level), Excel (intermediate to advance), Power Point
etc.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage time and prioritise workload.
• Able to take responsibility and ownership of the role.
• A flexible and adaptable approach to work with the ability to pivot when required.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to problem solve.
• Very good communication skills, both verbal and written with the ability to observe
confidentiality, where required.
• Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with a wide range of
people.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
