We’re looking for a degree qualified and part CA qualified accountant to join our high performing finance team. The ideal candidate will have previous tech startup experience, with exposure to all areas of finance. They will manage a junior finance assistant.
You will be responsible for three areas:
1. Management & Financial reporting
End to end ownership of month end preparation & intercompany reporting
Preparation of year end and statutory reporting incl liaising with external accountants
2. Financial controllership
Ensure AP/AR function is running smoothly (with assistance from a junior finance assistant), with all payments made on time and little to no overdue receivables
Work with our external accountants to prepare and review tax compliance including BAS/IAS/payroll/FBT tax
Prepare weekly payments, ensuring that all bank accounts are liquid across regions of operations (AU/US/SG)
Prepare monthly payroll and all associated returns and payments
Own our billing system, Subscript, ensuring that customer contracts are accurately interpreted
3. FP&A and Ad hoc business support
Support VP of finance with any FP&A tasks including annual budgeting & quarterly forecasting process
Assist on ad hoc corporate secretarial matters
Support the GTM team with any minor contractual requests such as billing for additional users, equipment etc
Able to run full month end process with minimal guidance and supervision
Strong communication skills required for interactions with wider business stakeholders including senior leadership team, board members, banking partners, professional services firms etc
Highly organised with acute attention to detail
Experience required
2-3 years of all round finance - month end process (with intercompany reporting), AP/AR, variance analysis, billing systems
Previous experience in a fast paced startup environment is necessary, bonus if it’s a tech business
Some management experience coaching junior finance roles
Must be highly proficient in Xero
B2B billing experience
Qualification required
Australian university degree in commerce/business with majors in Accounting & Finance
Part qualified Chartered Accountancy qualification (Completed at least 5 subjects)

Salary range: $70,000 to $80,000 AUD
