We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and committed person to fill the role of Executive Assistant to the Chief Executive (CE).

The Role
The Executive Assistant provides comprehensive, hands-on support to the Chief Executive, acting as the central point of contact for internal and external stakeholders and ensuring the smooth functioning of the CE Office. The person in this position is required to work closely with the CE and senior executives, to exercise judgement, discretion and confidentiality, set priorities and schedule work to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, environment.
The position provides high-level strategic, operational, and administrative support, and is required to effectively manage confidential and sensitive information with the strictest of confidence. The Executive Assistant must be agile and have the ability to understand nuanced situations, efficiently adapt to emerging issues and quickly develop an understanding of Oxfam Australia’s values, mission and operations.
A little about you (the key selection criteria)
- Conscientious: Takes initiative, and hands-on to proactively support the needs of the CE and the Executive Leadership Group
- Judgement: Excellent judgement and ability to understand and navigate nuanced situations, often which may require discretion and strict confidentiality
- Partnering: Partner with the CE (and by extension, the ELG and / or Board as needed), to ensure the smooth functioning of the CE office
- Adaptability: Demonstrated experience working and thriving in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communicator: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills up, down and lateral across the organisation
