The Role | Reporting to the Finance Manager
In this pivotal role, you will oversee critical financial processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in the management of fixed assets and associated reporting.
Duties Will Include
- Daily management and maintenance of the fixed asset register, including asset classes and effective lives.
- Overseeing asset additions, disposals, and WIP account schedules.
- Collaborating with the Property team on allocations for new stores.
- Preparing general journals, provisions, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Investigating ledger balances and reconciling items for resolution.
- Assisting with audits, statutory queries, and ad-hoc financial analysis.
- Driving process and system improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
You hold CA or CPA qualifications and preferably bring experience from within an ASX-listed or sizable enterprise, particularly within the FMCG or retail sector. Your exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities enable you to cultivate robust professional connections. With excellent time management skills, you can proficiently handle multiple tasks, and your positive attitude empowers you to tackle challenges with confidence, including implementing enhancements to processes.
To Excel In This Role, You Will Demonstrate
- A Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business, or a related discipline, coupled with CA/CPA qualifications.
- At least 3 years of experience working on fixed assets in-house within a fast-paced environment.
- Strong technical accounting skills, with a focus on fixed assets (PPE).
- Proficiency in reconciliation processes, financial analysis, and advanced Excel skills.
- Experience with finance systems (Oracle preferred) and retail accounting (desirable).
- Exceptional attention to detail, analytical capabilities, and problem-solving skills.
- A proactive, can-do attitude with excellent communication and teamwork skills.
