Financial Accountant | SMYA

San Miguel Yamamura Australasia (SMYA) is an established leader in packaging and contract wine filling in Australia and New Zealand. SMYA, a collective packaging specialist is composes of its key group members being, COSPAK, Vinocor, JMP Retail and SANECTOR.

We are currently looking for a proficient Financial Accountant to join our Corporate Finance team based in Cheltenham (SANECTOR Site). This role would be suited to someone who is looking for the next step in their career.

The role:

As the Financial Accountant you will report to the Finance Manager and work alongside both Finance and Operational teams. You will be responsible for a range of Finance functions including but not limited to:

• Monthly reconciliation of balance sheets accounts and ensure variances are brought to attention of Finance Manager and maintenance of general ledger.
• Preparing & Reviewing monthly P&L’s.
• Provide insight and guidance to the management team in how to improve profitability and financial performance.
• Fixed asset maintenance.
• Intercompany transactions, reconciliation, and analysis.
• Ensure regulatory compliance, including but not limited to FBT, BAS and IRD.
• Ensuring compliance with internal financial policies, procedures, controls and systems
• Facilitating the year-end audit processes
• Preparing Annual Budgets and Weekly & Quarterly Forecasts
• Assisting in process improvement

To be the successful candidate you will have:

• Have a relevant Accounting Qualification.
• Completed or studying towards a CA or CPA qualification.
• At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Experience in SAP is desirable.
• Demonstrated computer literacy skills and ability to learn new systems.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team as well as take on new tasks with a high level of difficulty.
• The ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.

• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
• Strong organisational and time management skills
