About The Role

As a Hotel Accountant, you will take ownership of the full spectrum of accounting responsibilities for three hotels within our portfolio. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you will play a vital role in driving operational excellence by overseeing financial reporting, managing costs, and ensuring accurate and compliant record-keeping. Specifically, your role will involve:

  • Post and review operational journals, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies.
  • Prepare and distribute reports, including revenue, payroll tracking, F&B cost of sales, and banking journals.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and manage GST reconciliation, addressing unresolved items or discrepancies.
  • Oversee GP payments, maintain sufficient working capital, and process Payroll Tax and BAS submissions.
  • Coordinate month-end closing, including journal postings, expense reviews, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Prepare financial statements and maintain accurate records for management, owners, and capital projects.


What are we looking for?

  • A degree level qualification in Finance or Accounting required
  • Experience working within the finance team in a hotel or hospitality industry is an advantage
  • Proficiency, at an intermediate to advanced level, with computers and computer programs, including Microsoft programs (Excel and Word).
  • Strong analytical skills and an eye for detail
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to be flexibility with working days during month end, quarter end and year end
