About the role:

 

We are currently looking for an Inventory Manager, who will have a key focus on supply chain management of MTM owned inventories to support our Rolling Stock overhaul activities to ensure the cost-effective and timely provision of materials.This role is full time, permanent and will be based out of 700 Collins Street, Monday to Friday.

 

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Working closely with MTM’s Rolling Stock Planning department, appropriately plan for the supply of materials to match with maintenance demands relating to overhaul activities, ensuring overhaul activities can be delivered to schedule
  • Support the development of supply chain agreements, ensuring costs of sourced materials are in line with market expectations, collaborating with Metro’s procurement team as required
  • Facilitate the delivery of materials from suppliers both domestically and internationally utilising applicable and approved Customs Tariff Concessions where possible ensuring the most cost-effective delivery is undertaken
  • Work closely with MTM’s approved Freight Agent clearly communicating collection and final delivery locations, and timings
  • Adherence to all legislative and regulatory requirements
  • Manage team to ensure the integrity of inventory data within MTM’s Enterprise Asset Management system (i.e. Ellipse E9) including the categorization of all stock
  • Manage team to ensure consistent and effective warranty management of Rolling Stock inventory across MTM stores in conjunction with MTM stores
  • Provide leadership and mentoring in the area of inventory and supply chain management across Rolling Stock

 

About You:

 

You're an experienced Inventory Manager, looking for the next big challenge. You strive to deliver exceptional outcomes, with a best practice approach. To be successful in the role you will require:

 

  • Proven experience in managing high cost projects
  • Minimum of five years supply chain and inventory management experience in a related industry
  • Strong understanding in the use of international freight incoterms and import/export freight management
  • Proven experience developing, implementing and monitoring demand forecasts
  • Sound knowledge of industry forecasting tools to support the creation of minimum stock levels, re-order points and quantities
  • Understanding of Electric Motive Unit (EMU) train systems and basic functionality would be highly desired but not essential
  • Understanding of total cost of ownership models
