About The Role
Join a dynamic team as the Manager of Business Partnering and play a pivotal role in driving financial strategy across the organisation.
Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, you will lead, develop, and empower the Finance Business Partnering team, fostering strong relationships with key internal stakeholders. This role involves driving strategic partnerships to influence business decisions, ensuring that financial insights are integrated into decision-making processes and contribute to sound financial outcomes.

About The Role
Join a dynamic team as the Manager of Business Partnering and play a pivotal role in driving financial strategy across the organisation.
Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, you will lead, develop, and empower the Finance Business Partnering team, fostering strong relationships with key internal stakeholders. This role involves driving strategic partnerships to influence business decisions, ensuring that financial insights are integrated into decision-making processes and contribute to sound financial outcomes.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Managing the ongoing forecasting process throughout the year in partnership with executives and branch areas, with the view of developing effective forecasting models to reflect changing business
- Leading and managing the annual budgeting process, working closely with Council and the Executive Leadership Team to develop accurate, realistic, and aligned budgets across a 1, 4 and 10 year timeframe.
- Partnering with executives to align departmental and organisational budget proposals with strategic objectives. Provide expert guidance to help leaders understand financial implications and make informed budgetary decisions.
- Acting as a trusted advisor to executives on financial matters, offering guidance on budget-related issues, capital expenditure, and financial strategy.
- Identifying financial risks and work with business leaders to develop mitigation strategies.
- Actively contribute to financial governance, foster a culture of discipline, and influence business decisions to ensure sustainable financial outcomes.
- Leading the internal conversation towards insightful analysis and building a framework of succinct reporting that effectively communicates the finance narrative to a largely non-finance stakeholder audience.
- Working with the Financial Controller to ensure alignment and consistency in the technical accounting treatment of material budget line items to ensure a no surprises approach to statutory reporting.
- Tertiary qualification and significant experience and proven achievement in accounting or related area with an accreditation with CPA or CAANZ
- Demonstrated experience in leading and manage multifaceted teams particularly through change programs of large complex organisations.
- Reputation of being a professional leader, consistently displaying integrity, courage, respect for self and others and striving for excellence.
- Strong team player, with the ability to demonstrate emotional intelligence and sound judgement whilst collaborating and cooperating on decisions and initiatives.
- A record of achievement and innovation in people management and leadership in a dynamic and political environment, and creating an environment focussed on staff engagement, accountability and decision making.
- Highly developed analytical and lateral thinking skills and the ability to take the initiative, drive changes and implement innovations.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, manage and maintain business plans, reporting and associated budgetary and financial management requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and persuasion skills with the ability to use discretion and judgment in a complex business and political environment.
