An exciting pre-opening opportunity exists for a part-tme People & Culture Officer (one day a week) to join our team at Hyatt House South Melbourne. This role offers the unique chance to be part of launching the Hyatt House brand in Australia, with the hotel scheduled to open at the beginning of 2025. Based on site in South Melbourne, the People & Culture Officer is a pivotal role within the Hotel operations. Reporting into the General Manager, they are responsible for end-to-end administrative support across a range of P&C functions including; recruitment, on boarding, learning and development, wellbeing & occupational health and safety.
This is a great opportunity in a pre-opening team for someone who is willing to contribute in successfully setting up the People & Culture department and enthusiastic about learning/acquiring new skills.

- End-to-end management of the recruitment process
- Assisting with the on-boarding process for new employees
- Leading and driving initiatives across the hotel from a local, national and global perspective
- Assist in the fortnightly payroll process as required
- Assist with coordinating P&C projects and events
- Provide P&C advice and assist with query management of the People and Culture function

Your Background
To be successful in this role you will require the following attributes:
- Completed or currently studying Human Resources or related qualification
- Strong problem solving and excellent time management skills
- Intermediate administration experience
- Ability to effectively plan, multi-task and prioritize a number of items
- Excellent interpersonal communication (verbal and written) skills
