We are excited to see the first new SHEIKE boutique launched in the last week at Chadstone The Fashion Capital. Over the last year, the collaboration between the brand and our team to deliver an elevated experience for customers has been fulfilled with this opening. Every shopfront must be unique but follow the same overarching purpose - to create a strong first impression, grounding the brand in it’s new location and align with the branding and their story. Evolving parts of the design to engage visitors, ensuring they are dynamic by integrating both existing and new structures is part of our consistent delivery for Helly Hansen ANZ. How do you safely incorporate large raw boulders into the design of an interior retail space, ensuring they contribute aesthetically while also considering structural integrity and customer safety? To meet the commercial goals of the projects, NORTH+NORTH partnered with IA Hardware to source a package offshore - including stone, steel and joinery used within the space. The design team worked tirelessly with the IA Hardware team to refine detail, work within material limitations and solve key challenges prior to manufacture.

Our C1 Mannequin does away with the chemicals and materials that are single use, replacing them with organic paper or cardboard pulp and rice based adhesive. With similar properties to a hdpe mannequin form, the C1 is the next chapter in a more sustainable future on the retail floor. #c1 #mannequins #sustainability #iahardware

Project Models. It’s amazing seeing a project come to life, before soil is turned. This project requires a model to support the capital raise, which was made by one of our partners in Hong Kong and shipped to Australia for the sales suite. Designer NORTH+NORTH called for basic block forms for the buildings and a negative outline of the golf course, to highlight the amazing wave pool. Phased illumination in the model brought activity to a static form. #wavepool #model #design #propertydevelopment

Custom Breezeblocks, designed to capture the RVCA logo whilst forming a structural wall. IA Hardware tested multiple production methods and refined the manufacture to a silicone mould, ultimately shipping the 900mm long blocks to sites globally for integration into the branded stores along with fixtures and signage. #custom #breezeblock #production #iahardware

A counter, but not as we know it. Designed by NORTH+NORTH , the brief was to be sculptural, yet with purpose. The challenge was manufacturing this design offshore, to align with the projects commercial goals. Multiple internal folds, solid timber joinery elements and a hand shaped boulder to appear wedged between the steel. Constructed in 3 stainless steel components the folds were actually welded, as the multiple folds were not possible via machine. The stone was core holed to reduce weight and also carry power and data through to the pos. The timber required solid slabs to be milled into the drawer unit and veneered for the curved cut out. Expert craftsmen brought this piece together, being delivered into 4 of the first 6 sites for Aje Athletica. The modularity also assisted in varying lengths across the sites, as well as protecting the piece in transport and through logistics onto site.
