A cohort of 25 students from 20 African countries, led by Associate Professor Kathryn Sturman and Eliana Burbano from the The University of Queensland, recently visited Intertek’s Minerals Global Centre of Excellence in Perth. The group, composed of mining engineers and geologists from their countries' ministries of mines, participated in the study tour under the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade’s Australia Awards Africa program. During their visit, they were warmly welcomed by the Intertek team, attended an insightful presentation by Global Business Development Manager Frazer Fallens, engaged in a thought-provoking Q&A session, and toured the state-of-the-art facility with Technical Manager Richard Holdsworth and Regional Manager, Geochemistry Andrew Riley. Their enthusiasm and dedication were truly inspiring, and we wish them continued success on their journey.
