2024 Da Nang Travel Guide: Must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transportation routes (updated in December)
Da Nang is located in central Vietnam. The beaches stretch along some 30 kilometers of coastline, making this an ideal resort location. Downtown Da Nang has a few scenic spots, most notably a candy pink church—the Da Nang Cathedral—which is full to the brim with the Gothic style of the Middle Ages. It is an excellent place to take photos. My Khe Beach is known as one of the planet’s most beautiful beaches. Rent a lounge chair and you can enjoy the whole day sunbathing and enjoying the sandy, sunny, beachfront scene. The Da Nang coastal road from Hải Vân Pass to Lăng Cô Beach is especially beautiful. If you are traveling with the Open Bus from Hue to Da Nang, grab a window seat to enjoy this scenic drive. Da Nang's Chàm Islands have water so clear you can see all the way down to the bottom. Diving or snorkeling here is a good way to see lots of colorful coral.

📍Madame Lan Restaurant, Danang, Vietnam
Decided to visit Madame Lan Restaurant for dinner and this was such a great idea! The restaurant is huge and spacious with both indoor and outdoor seating areas. Love the decor of the restaurant, with vibrant and pretty hanging lanterns, very instagrammable and lovely! Specialising in Vietnamese cuisine, they surely do offer a huge selection of local food like Vietnamese pancakes, stir fry dishes, steamed rice cakes topped with minced pork or shrimps and more. We ordered their grilled pork collar, stir fry french beans which were both flavourful and made them a good pairing for rice! Service from the staffs were top tier, very attentive and polite. Love it! Would definitely revisit and recommend this restaurant!
‘Lang Chai’, a popular seafood restaurant in Danang these days
This restaurant is located near Mikke Beach. It is a huge seafood restaurant where you can choose seafood that comes in every morning from the aquarium and cook it as you want.
You can eat various seafood such as lobster, shrimp, and oysters in fresh and delicious dishes. There is also a set menu where you can eat various dishes! There is air conditioning on the 2nd floor so you can enjoy it comfortably.

Sipping Elegance: Discovering Da Nang’s Moroccan Gem
#favouritecafe #danang #vietnam #hiddengem #vietnamcoffee #cafehoping
Nestled in the vibrant streets of Da Nang, Cửa Ngõ Cafe feels like stepping into a Moroccan-inspired sanctuary. The moment you walk in, you’re greeted by a symphony of warm, earthy tones, intricately patterned tiles, and a design that effortlessly marries elegance with coziness.
The staff here radiate friendliness, adding to the charm of the place. Their genuine smiles and attentive service make you feel like a welcome guest rather than just another customer.
But the true star? Their coconut coffee—an irresistible blend of rich, creamy coconut and bold Vietnamese coffee. It’s a tropical symphony for your taste buds, striking the perfect balance between refreshment and indulgence. And while you linger over your drink, they thoughtfully provide free plain water, a small but appreciated touch that shows their commitment to hospitality.
Cửa Ngõ Cafe isn’t just a place to grab a coffee—it’s an experience, a little slice of calm amidst the bustling city. Whether you’re here to savor a moment of solitude or catch up with friends, this is a cafe you’ll find yourself longing to return to.
Good soup in My An when you're lazy to get fancy
I love local tiny spots that cater just a few options and rarely see any tourists. I found this place in My An, Danang - thanks to my local friend.
Đặc Sản Mì Quảng has just a few options, but then has something for everyone - soup with meat, shrimp, fish, eggs. The place is very local and very quiet. And the food is very delicious!
This is my favorite place in Danang for when I don't feel like going out and just want to grab something delicious and quick.

Things to Note When Visiting Ba Na Hills
Explore the Vietnamese version of Disneyland at Ba Na Hills in Da Nang. Originally built by the French as a resort at an altitude of 1,400 meters, it has now transformed into a hub of entertainment and leisure. Key points to remember: Visit on a clear day to fully enjoy the experience, as foggy weather can drastically change the atmosphere.
Must-see landmarks include:
1. Golden Bridge (best visited before 8 AM or after 5 PM),
2. French Village (ideal for photos, especially beautiful in the evening)
3. Alpine Coaster (costs around 70,000 VND, but the ride is short, so not highly recommended),
4. Indoor Amusement Park (features various rides, including an indoor drop tower)
5. Castle Train (offers views of the castle and Ba Na Hills)
6. Giant Buddha (overlooks the area from the mountain top).
For photo opportunities, good weather is crucial to avoid misty pictures. Recommended spots include:
1. Mercure Hotel entrance plaza
2. Golden Bridge
3. Castle Train
4. World's longest cable car
5. Giant Buddha
6. Pink Castle.
Transportation:
Using Grab is not recommended due to the difficulty of finding rides on the mountain and adapting to different drivers.

Experience the Beauty, Culture, and Adventure of Da Nang
Da Nang, a coastal paradise in central Vietnam, is a top destination for travelers seeking breathtaking landscapes, rich culture, and unforgettable adventures. The city boasts stunning beaches like My Khe, known for its soft sands and clear waters, perfect for relaxation or water sports. Beyond the shore, visitors can explore the majestic Marble Mountains, the Golden Bridge held by giant hands, and the lush Son Tra Peninsula. Da Nang's cultural side shines through its vibrant festivals, traditional markets, and delicious cuisine, with highlights like mì Quảng (Quang-style noodles) and fresh seafood. The warmth and friendliness of the local people make every experience memorable. For a perfect mix of natural beauty, cultural charm, and adventure, Da Nang is a destination you won't want to miss.
My favorite bakery in Danang!
Bakeries and sweets are difficult things in Asia. Unfortunately, in Asian countries, cakes and pastries often looks so good like really really good but at the same time they taste like nothing.
That's why I was extremely happy to stumble upon Bread & Butter Bakery in Da Nang, Vietnam. Same as everywhere in Asia their pastries look real nice but a pleasant surprise was that they also taste nice! They were not too sweet, they don't taste like paper, they not mushy, they are just pretty damn good!
Coffee is average, nothing groundbreaking here, but my cappuccino went nicely to help wash down the absolutely delicious pistachio roll.
The space itself is very nice, the staff is friendly, some tables are sort of lounge area with comfy sofa-like seats.

Bana Hill Night Tour
📍Bana Hill
I recommend going to the Bana Hill tour as a night tour~
Usually, you can take the cable car up at 3~4pm and enjoy Bana Hill until the last cable car at 8:30pm. During the day, the sun is too hot and there are more people because it is rainy at night, so I recommend the night tour. At night, the entire street is pretty because of the building lights~#Da Nang #Da Nang Travel #Bana Hill
🇻🇳 Ba Na Hill 🇻🇳
Ba Na Hill is a hidden gem in Vietnam that feels like stepping into a fairy tale! The cable car ride alone is an unforgettable experience, offering stunning views of the mountains and lush forests. Once at the top, you’ll be greeted by the incredible French Village with its beautiful architecture, and of course, the iconic Golden Hand Bridge—a must-see! There’s so much to explore, from peaceful gardens to a vibrant amusement park. It’s the perfect mix of culture, nature, and fun! Highly recommend this magical destination. #BaNaHill #GoldenBridge

Calling all beach lovers!!! if you’ve been to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh Vietnam, add Da Nang to your list. The city’s so peaceful, serene- you will really love it. The lifestyle here’s pretty laid-back. It’s close to the scenic spots, markets, food shops, and most of all (the white sand beaches) It takes only 15 minutes to the city center from the airport.
This is a getaway of pure fun and relaxation. Da Nang has the longest beach shoreline.

🇻🇳 Banahills beer factory
#oktoberfest #100WaysOfTravel
When you read about Bana Hills, you will seldom come across the Bana Hills Beer Factory. This is a huge plaza with large beer barrels and they even have a beer tour for all interested guests. You only can take the cable car to reach the Beer Plaza area and it is free entry to all guests. Over here, you learn how beer is being made using the various ingredients and the guide here speak English. The best time to come to Beer Plaza is from April to August which is their summer season to enjoy food and beer festival. I was there in September and this period from September to October is their Autumn festive and also Oktoberfest with a great selection of German beer.

🇻🇳 Beer tasting at Banahills
#oktoberfest #100WaysOfTravel
You can buy beer coupons and join in the fun to taste all the beers at Bana Hills Beer Plaza. It is Oktoberfest every day here because of its uniqueness in this European village. It is a theme park in Da Nang up in the mountains and you can only come here by cable car. They have different seasonal activities here and it is a permanent restaurant serving food and beer here at Bana Hills. During Oktoberfest, you can see more tables are setup in the outdoor and even concert stages too. It is a exact replication of the festival and many grilled meat and German pork knuckles are being served too. Over here they even have a Kellner mascot dressed up in pig costume. These are the German beer ladies who are capable to carry many beer at one time.

【Must-see attractions】
Attraction name + introduction: Ba Na Hills
A famous attraction in Da Nang is the longest cable car in the world. As the cable car goes up, you can enjoy the scenery of Da Nang, the Golden Buddha's Hand Bridge and the French Village.
After boarding the cable car, you will go directly to the French Village at the top, one of the most popular destinations in Ba Na Hills, with landmarks such as squares, churches, old villages and hotels, as well as restaurants and amusement parks.
Then we came to the most popular Golden Buddha's Hand Bridge. There were so many people that it was difficult to take photos of the aerial view. We all took photos with passers-by. After walking across the bridge, there was a small area next to it that was less crowded. From there, we could get close to the Buddha's Hand Bridge. Take a photo.
Price: Tickets + cable car are about $1,000. It is recommended that you buy tickets online to avoid the crowds of people queuing up to buy tickets on site.
【Must-eat food】
1. Restaurant + must-try dishes: Thìa Gỗ
I ordered beef rice noodles, fried spring rolls and pancakes. The rice noodles soup is sweet and not salty. The fried spring rolls are crispy and not greasy. The pancakes are super big. They are wrapped with rice paper, lettuce and sauce. They taste delicious. The crispy flavor of the pie crust also has the sweetness of the lettuce, and the filling inside the pie tastes very rich.
2. Restaurant + must-try dishes: Ăn Thôi Restaurant
Located next to the Han Market, there were still a lot of people at 3pm. The decoration was very cute. I ordered pineapple fried rice, beef pho, stir-fried water spinach, pancakes and fried spring rolls. The pineapple fried rice actually came with scary three-color vegetables! ! ! But fortunately, after picking them out, they are delicious. The fried water spinach feels a bit unpleasant and too salty, but the other flavors are pretty good.
3. Restaurant + must-try dish: Bánh Mì Phượng French bread
Located near the ancient town of Hoi An, there are many people queuing up. The French bread is very crispy, and with the meat and eggs inside, it tastes very good.
【Accommodation recommendation】
Hotel name: voco Ma Belle Danang, an IHG Hotel
Hotel address: 168 Võ Nguyên Giáp, Street, Sơn Trà, Đà Nẵng
It is located near My Khe Beach. I booked a triple room for three people. I found it difficult to sleep on the bunk beds because the bed was very small and the quilt was very small. Later, I asked the housekeeping staff to give me a large quilt, but the big bed Just slept well. There is an infinity swimming pool, so you can enjoy the sea view while soaking in the water.
Price: Three people stay for two nights (Saturday and Sunday), about $11,000.
Saint Denis Church
Saint Denis Church is one of the most beautiful destinations in Ba Na Hills. With its distinctive Gothic architecture, it features luxurious interiors such as beautiful stained glass and intricate plasterwork details, creating a sacred and serene atmosphere.
**Art:**
This church is a prime example of artistic creation in Vietnam. It showcases murals and decorative works that convey religious stories, using a variety of materials to make the church unique and beautiful.
**Location:**
Saint Denis Church is located atop Ba Na Hills in Da Nang, Vietnam. It is a high and beautiful viewpoint, allowing visitors to enjoy excellent surrounding views.
**Transportation:**
You can reach the church by taking a cable car from Da Nang city, which takes about 30 minutes to get to Ba Na Hills. Here, you will experience stunning views and fresh air. Additionally, there are car or taxi services available from the city center.
Han Market: Danang's shopping area
Han Market is located on the Han River. It is the oldest indoor market in Da Nang. There are fresh seafood, vegetables, fruits, products, sweets, dried seafood, handicrafts, and even Ao Dai. If you want something affordable, come here. The market has a lot of things to sell. Or if you want to buy souvenirs, you can find everything here. But!!! When buying, you have to bargain well to get cheaper prices.
The surrounding area also has many shops, cafes, and food shops. We came across a shop that only sells coconut dishes, so we had to stop by and try the whole coconut jelly. It was very delicious. The coconut water was fragrant and the coconut meat was soft and tender.
If you go to Han Market and are tired from shopping, stop by and sit down and eat some cool coconut jelly. Let's refresh ourselves and then go shopping. 🥥🛍
