Old school hotel building, newish hotel rooms

Must have passed by this hotel so many times over the years, from when it was formerly known as River View Hotel till now, bought over by the Marriot Group and refurbished and rebranded as Four Points by Sheraton. That intrigued me to give this hotel a try to see whether the Marriott group can give new life to this old dog. On that part, I dare say it has. The hotel has been given a youngish colour scheme and that extends to the rooms as well. Booked a deluxe king room with river view, room number 1329. The room was kind of smallish at 22 sqm but functional. The bed was comfy, tv was big for the room size, toilet small but new and clean. Love the console that I could sit on to get a bit of Sun and watch the Singapore river below. A nice spot to read too. Only real setback was the soundproofing of the room was not great, and could hear people talking and walking as they walked passed the room. Pool was decent and I managed to get a good tan sunning myself on the numerous deck chairs. Being next to the quieter reaches of the Singapore River, it was lovely to take a long stroll along the river during the evening as you see the transition between day and night.
