Life advice: You must come here for a city walk before leaving Nanjing.
Life advice: You must come here for a city walk before leaving Nanjing|||You must come to Nanjing. Nanjing in autumn is really worth visiting! ❤️
When you come to Nanjing in autumn, remember to come here for a city walk.
This route covers the essence of the old city of Nanjing, and many popular spots are on this route.
-
‼️Specific route: Chaotian Palace ➡️ Yuedong Xinmenxi ➡️ Porcelain Tower of Nanjing ➡️ Laomendong ➡️ Xiaoxihu Scenic Area ➡️ Confucius Temple
-
📍① Chaotian Palace
The ginkgo trees in Chaotian Palace in autumn are a must-see. The golden ginkgo trees and red palace walls are a perfect match. 💯 This is also the location of the Nanjing Museum, and the collections in the museum are worth seeing.
-
📍② Yuedong Xinmenxi
The most popular "Nanjing" wall is here, specifically in Building 18 of the park, near the parking lot exit.
-
📍③ Porcelain Tower of Nanjing
A great museum to visit, with a rich collection of exhibits and innovative displays. There are not many visitors, so the experience is great. The book frame at the entrance is a popular photo spot.
-
📍④ Laomendong
A lively place all year round, with bluestone roads that have the characteristics of Jiangnan alleys. At this time of year, the Chinese tallow trees on the west side of the street are beautiful.
-
📍⑤ Xiaoxihu Scenic Area
The street is opposite Laomendong, connected to Dayoufang Lane. There are many small literary and artistic shops, which are great for taking photos.
-
📍⑥ Confucius Temple
A must-visit attraction when traveling to Nanjing. The Imperial Examination Hall, Dacheng Hall, Wuyi Lane, and Qinhuai River all have a strong sense of history. At night, you can experience the "Qinhuai River in the sound of oars and lights" described by Mr. Zhu Ziqing.
-
This time, I came to Confucius Temple for a city walk with my friends and found that there is also a Grandpa No Tea here, which I love. It is located on Dashiba Street, and you can see it after crossing the Wenyuan Bridge next to the Jiangnan Examination Hall.
-
I ordered the upgraded version of lychee ice brew. The upgraded version of Phoenix Dancong tea and Zhangpu Wushi lychee juice are perfectly blended, with milk, osmanthus rice wine, and osmanthus jelly added. It is sweet but not greasy, with a richer taste. The pink cup is also upgraded, with a high appearance. I was asked about it all the way while taking photos with it in my hand. It is really beautiful.

Nanjing is so powerful, my friends are asking me about it.
After waiting for half a year, I finally got the National Day holiday⛱️
After work, I took the high-speed rail to Nanjing🚅 to start my trip to Nanjing
After getting off the high-speed rail🚄, the first stop is here
1⃣️Ginkgo Lake
I really regret not discovering it earlier,
Green water, sandy beach, and large lawn, Nanjing has its own Altay
2⃣️Chaotian Palace
Walking under the red tile, yellow brick, and green tile palace walls, I can't tell the difference between ancient and modern times
There is a different view in the courtyard, magnolia in spring, and ginkgo in autumn🍂
Each season has its own beauty
I also checked in at the Chaotian Palace slide, which is the childhood of many people in Nanjing
3⃣️Fashion Lady
You can see Lady at Exit 12 of Xinjiekou Subway Station
When I was in school, I almost came to visit every month. At that time, my manicure💅 and clothes were all done here. After a few years, Lady has changed a lot, she is younger and more fashionable
There is also an illustration exhibition🎨 at the door
Where the light goes-until the light shines into life, come to your sky
The warm blue is so healing~
4⃣️Niushou Mountain
A sentence "A Niushou Mountain, half of Jinling's history"
It's not a loss to build 4 billion, I was really shocked
After climbing to the top of the Buddha Tower, the entire Niushou Mountain is in sight

Autumn in Jinling in the Year of the Dragon (7) Chaotian Palace
Chaotian Palace is located in Qinhuai District, Nanjing. It is the best-preserved ancient architectural complex from the Ming and Qing dynasties in the Jiangnan region, and is a national key cultural relic protection unit. In the Spring and Autumn Period, the site was a weapons workshop and a population center called "Yeshan" in the State of Wu, and was also an early city in Nanjing. In 1384, the 17th year of the Hongwu reign of the Ming dynasty, the Hongwu Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang ordered the reconstruction of the palace and named it "Chaotian Palace," making it the largest and most influential Taoist temple in the Ming dynasty. During the Tongzhi reign of the Qing dynasty, Chaotian Palace was converted into a Confucian temple (Wen Temple) and became the site of Jiangning Prefecture School. During the Republic of China, it was the site of the Capital High Court. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Chaotian Palace became the site of the Nanjing Cultural Relics Preservation Committee (the predecessor of the Nanjing Museum). In 1978, the Nanjing Museum was officially established, with a collection of more than 100,000 cultural relics, including the Nanjing Man skull fossil, the blue and white porcelain vase with the design of Xiao He chasing Han Xin, the jade belt with the design of a dragon in the clouds, and the amber cup with the design of a fisherman playing with lotus, which are famous both at home and abroad. In autumn, the ginkgo and red maple trees set off the ancient buildings of Chaotian Palace, making it a colorful and beautiful place to enjoy the autumn scenery.

Chaotian Palace, a treasure of the Nanjing Museum, is a must-see for travelers!
Chaotian Palace, the location of the Nanjing Museum, is a Taoist temple with a long history. Its history can be traced back to the Sui Dynasty, when it was originally built to worship the gods of heaven and earth. It was rebuilt and restored during the Song Dynasty, becoming an important place for the emperor to worship heaven. During the Ming Dynasty, Chaotian Palace became even more prosperous, and the Hongwu Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang issued an edict to bestow the name "Chaotian Palace," meaning "worshiping heaven." Chaotian Palace was not only a royal Taoist temple, but also a place where civil and military officials practiced the etiquette of worshiping the emperor before festivals.

Found a hidden gem for late-night snacks: Fragrant Beef Bone Soup!!
Came to Chaotiangong West Street for food and found this beef bone soup!
Spicy and original flavors, super large chunks with meat, they say the meat next to the bone is the most fragrant, this beef bone soup is too chewy, I personally love the spicy one, the taste is slightly heavier, it's so satisfying to chew on it😋
There are also Laba garlic and pickles, refreshing and greasy👍🏻
Calcium supplement beef bone marrow is also a must, jelly-like texture, fresh and satisfying!

Explore the ancient charm and stroll around the Chaotian Palace.
The Chaotian Palace was built during the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty. It was named by Zhu Yuanzhang, the first emperor of the Ming Dynasty, and means "worshiping heaven and seeing the emperor". It is now the Nanjing Museum.
Unlike other museums, the architectural complex of the Chaotian Palace itself is of great historical and artistic value. Stepping into it, the grandeur of the Ming and Qing official buildings and the exquisite and ingenious Jiangnan gardens are integrated, as if traveling back to that glorious era. The five courtyards are progressive, from the rippling blue waves of the Pan Pool to the solemn and majestic Dacheng Hall, every place reveals the awe and worship of the ancients for nature, and shows the essence of traditional Chinese architectural art.
The museum has more than 100,000 cultural relics, dating back to ancient times and modern times. The collection is rich in connotation and has high historical, artistic and scientific value. The museum's permanent exhibitions include "Dragon and Tiger-Lying-Nanjing City History", "Yutang Jiaqi-Museum Collection Exhibition", "Yunshang Zanying-Song Ming Costume Exhibition" and so on.
Friends who can't make an appointment to the Nanjing Museum might as well come to the Chaotian Palace for a stroll, without crowding, without following the crowd, you can feel the historical culture of the ancient capital of the Six Dynasties, and quietly listen to the story of a thousand years.

My Life FIRST | Summer Visit to Nanjing Museum
| Summer Visit to Nanjing Museum. Nanjing has many museums, among which the highest level and national level is the Nanjing Museum, while the municipal level museum is called Nanjing Municipal Museum, commonly known as Chaotian Palace!
► Exhibits: From Ancient Times to the Republic of China
▪ Treasures of the Museum: Celadon underglaze colorful bird and auspicious beast spout pot, epitaph of the Wang and Xie family, blue and white porcelain vase depicting Xiao He chasing Han Xin under the moon, gold-inlaid cloud dragon pattern jade belt, fisherman playing with lotus amber cup, seven-treasure gilded Ashoka tower, etc. However, not all of them will be on display, it depends on luck!
▪ Permanent exhibitions include "Dragon and Tiger: History of Nanjing City", "Jade Hall: Exhibition of Museum Collections", "Cloud Garments and Hairpins: Song and Ming Dynasty Costume Exhibition", among which the "Song and Ming Dynasty Costume Exhibition" focuses on showcasing exquisite costumes from the Song and Ming periods, mostly unearthed in the Nanjing area, with beautifully patterned silk garments!
▪ The special exhibition for the Year of the Dragon is very interesting, featuring dragon-related architecture, utensils, silk, jewelry, etc. unearthed from various sites in Nanjing, as well as place names in Nanjing named after dragons. The concluding sentence is very impactful: Culture has never ceased to flow, and the only one that has been continuously inherited is China. Black hair, yellow skin, inherited down, we are called the descendants of the dragon!
► Architecture: 2500 Years of History
▪ Chaotian Palace Ancient Building Complex is the highest grade, largest area, and best-preserved ancient building complex in the Jiangnan region, with typical Ming and Qing dynasty palace-style structures.
▪ Climb to the highest point of Chaotian Palace, Jingyi Pavilion. Nanjing Museum
The museum in Nanjing that is only open for three days a year, the Ming Qiyang King Mausoleum
The subway line 4 comes out from Jiangwangmiao station, and it is right across the street. There are quite a few people today.
The mausoleum of Ming Qiyang King Li Wenzhong is located at No. 6 Jiangwangmiao Street, Xuanwu District, Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province. The Qiyang King Mausoleum was built in the nineteenth year of Hongwu (1386), and the spirit road was repaired twice during the Ming Chenghua and Qing Guangxu periods. The existing area is 14,000 square meters, with the front part being the spirit road stone carvings, the middle part being the remains of the Xiangdian (the base has been restored), and the rear part being the tomb mound. There is one stone tablet on the spirit road, two each of looking columns, stone horses and horse-controlling officials, stone sheep, stone tigers, military generals, and civil officials. The stone carvings of the spirit road are solemn and majestic, the base of the Xiangdian is grand in scale, the tomb mound stands tall, the trees are lush, and the grass is as green as a carpet.

Embrace the premier attraction of Nanjing
Chaotian Palace~ is the highest-ranking, largest, and most well-preserved complex of official Ming and Qing dynasty architecture in the southern Yangtze region, known as the 'Number One Spectacle of Nanjing'.
The name Chaotian Palace was bestowed by an imperial edict from the founder of the Ming dynasty, Zhu Yuanzhang, with the meaning of 'worshipping heaven' and 'an audience with the emperor'. It served as a site for the imperial nobility to burn incense and pray for blessings, and as a venue for civil and military officials to practice imperial court rituals before festivals.
Emperor Qianlong visited the south of the Yangtze River six times, ascending to tour Chaotian Palace on five occasions, each time composing poems to express his sentiments. Today, the stone steles inscribed with five of Qianlong's own poems still stand intact in the Imperial Stele Pavilion behind Chaotian Palace.

As soon as it snows, all the beautiful scenery of Nanjing is at Chaotian Palace!
Snowy Nanjing has a kind of simple and quiet beauty, possessing both the elegance of the south and the spectacular grandeur of the northern snow scenes, as well as the profound antiquity of the ancient capital Jinling.
✔️ Chaotian Palace is one of the forty-eight scenic spots of Jinling, and it is also the largest and best-preserved group of ancient buildings in the south of the Yangtze River. The red walls and yellow tiles are even more royal after the snow, making the scene extraordinarily enchanting.
✔️ Now, Chaotian Palace has another identity - Nanjing Museum. The museum houses a collection of one hundred thousand cultural relics, rich in content and of high historical, artistic, and scientific value, and is also a testament to the history of Nanjing.
✔️ After the snow, Chaotian Palace, with its red walls, green trees, and white snow... complement each other, simply intoxicating! The palaces with their flying eaves and corners are draped in thick cotton. The winding corridors of the garden, with jade trees and crystal branches, meet the returning wind.
✔️ Stop in your tracks, say nothing, do nothing, just listen to the snow under the eaves, listen to the fine whispers of Chaotian Palace. This moment of tranquility is worth a decade of dusty dreams.

Come and walk the flower road, I've taken a photo of a lifetime here in Nanjing
Hello~ I'm William, who loves to take photos~
Now, Nanjing is the home field for magnolia flowers~
William will take everyone to the Chaotian Palace to walk the flower road~
The dreamy red walls and white magnolias, I was fortunate to experience it last year, and this year I came as promised wearing the same outfit~
In front of the Zunsheng Hall, there are two white magnolias blooming between the palace walls and pavilions~
The young ladies on site wearing traditional Hanfu are really too beautiful! So many different styles, all standing under the magnolia trees, will become another beautiful scenery of Chaotian Palace~
It's just that the magnolia bloom period is quite short, only about 7 days~
If you missed the golden ginkgo leaves last year, don't miss the magnolias this time~
There are quite a lot of people coming to take photos and check in these days, you have to be quick to capture the image you want...
I took photos for ten minutes and then went home...

A journey of a thousand miles
The sun is shining brightly, the sunlight slowly sprinkles through the leaves onto the pavilions and towers of the Nanjing Museum, onto the Qinhuai River of Jinling, bit by bit, cluster by cluster...
I am reminded of a movie 'Escape from the British Museum'.
Little jade pot brought back the 'family letters' of the Chinese cultural relics that were illegally transported to Britain during the humiliating years. I read them over and over again.
Those cultural relics that have been lost abroad. Those conversations across time and space: if you are well, it is a sunny day.
A thousand years of sedimentation, a thousand years of vigilance.
The longing and the road home are always so long and distant.
And the cultural relics buried deep underground, bless my China: may the mountains and rivers be unharmed, may the nation be forever peaceful.
A common voice: may the mountains and rivers be unharmed, may the nation be forever peaceful.
May the mountains and rivers be unharmed, may the nation be forever peaceful!
May the mountains and rivers be unharmed, may the nation be forever peaceful!

I hereby declare this the best place in Nanjing for taking photos in horse-face skirts!
The compatibility between Chaotian Palace and horse-face skirts is truly 💯
The blooming period of the white magnolias is very short, so take advantage of these couple of days before they wither
Ladies, hurry up, or you'll have to wait another year 😭
📸Photography Tips:
✅ 👗Choose clothes that are simple and elegant, traditional Chinese garments like horse-face skirts are very suitable
✅ Bring your own props, otherwise it feels a bit plain. You can bring folding fans, oil-paper umbrellas, swords, various musical instruments, hhh~ create a sense of story 😎
✅ The entrance of Dacheng Hall and the red walls of Chaotian Palace are also hin good for taking photos!!

Nanjing Lightning 8-hour Tour - An unfinished city! I will come again
Because I was transferring back from Thailand, I only had 8 hours of transit time in Nanjing, so I decisively rented a car from the airport.
I ate the famous breakfast sesame ball and black rice, two flavors a day, one sweet and one salty, both delicious.
I randomly entered a shop for duck blood vermicelli soup and small steamed buns, the taste was also very good.
I packed a box of duck in the residential area and tasted it, it was too delicious!
Then I went to the Nanjing Museum and took a quick look around, there are really a lot of good things.
Then walked to the city wall to see the street view.
I found the famous pressed duck, and finally half of the freshly cut duck and small baked buns were packed by us. It is said to be much more delicious than vacuum-packed.
I hurried to the airport, ready to go home and eat pressed duck. As a result, I forgot to take the big bag of pressed duck when I was in a hurry to return the car. When I went back to get it, the car rental company's staff had already driven the car away and washed it, and they had thrown away my food, it was a pity!
8 hours is too short, there are still a lot of delicious and fun places I haven't been to, I will definitely go again with regrets, see you next time Nanjing!

Chaotian Palace|Emperor Qianlong's five visits are also known as the Little Forbidden City
|Emperor Qianlong's five visits are also known as the Little Forbidden City. Chaotian Palace|Emperor Qianlong's five visits are also known as the Little Forbidden City. Chaotian Palace is known as the 'First Scenic Spot of Jinling', but it is seriously underestimated by locals and tourists...
Chaotian Palace is the largest and best-preserved ancient architectural complex from the Ming and Qing Dynasties in the south of the Yangtze River.
The Nanjing Museum is located here and is very low-key.
In Chaotian Palace, enjoying magnolia flowers in spring and ginkgo trees in autumn has become a unique feature of Jinling! Emperor Qianlong visited Jiangnan six times, and he checked in here five times.
Chaotian Palace has the same scenery throughout the four seasons:
√Magnolia blossoms√Summer greenery√Autumn ginkgo yellow√Silver makeup
Tour recommendations:
Spring: In mid-to-late February, magnolias bloom, making it a must-visit spot in Nanjing in spring. However, because it's so beautiful, there are really a lot of cameras.
Summer: From April, the green leaves are lush, and the towering trees are very spectacular. When you look at the magnolias, many trees have not yet grown leaves, so only the places with magnolias are convenient for appreciation. It is recommended to come again when the green leaves grow.
Autumn: Look at the ginkgo, the yellow ginkgo in autumn is another beautiful scenery.
Winter: You must come again when it snows, the palace wall coming out of the Imperial Stele Pavilion is very low, very beautiful!

A snowfall in Jinling~ Take you to appreciate the 'unparalleled elegance' of the Ming Dynasty
Once there is snow in Jinling, half a dream intoxicates the world~
Nanjing suddenly experienced heavy snow, which caught every spirited person off guard and put them into a quick-freeze mode!
Although ancient buildings are scattered all over Nanjing, after the snowfall, any ancient building in Nanjing is a historical annotation with temporal depth~
Nanjing's most beautiful places to appreciate snowscapes ➡️ Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum, Jiming Temple, and the Chaotian Palace, which is known as the mini Forbidden City!
📝Travel and check-in tips:
✅ If you want to take photos, be sure to go early, otherwise it will be crowded, and many people will come to take portraits!
✅ The Chaotian Palace after the snow, paired with horse-face skirts or Ming and Tang Dynasties, is very beautiful, with an explosive atmosphere👍
✅ The Nanjing Museum is also worth a visit, with a rich collection, you can bring children to popularize some historical knowledge!

Annual Travel Destination Recommendation: The millennium royal land, the treasure garden in the city, Nanjing Chaotian Palace!
►The millennium sacred land since the Spring and Autumn Period
▪The history of Chaotian Palace can be traced back to the era of Wu Wang Fuchai during the Spring and Autumn Period. It is said that he smelted iron and cast swords here, so this place was called Zhishan in ancient times. Later, emperors of all dynasties built temples and palaces here, and Chaotian Palace became a place for royal sacrifices and worship of heaven.
▪During the Sui Dynasty, Sui Wendi Yang Jian, in order to consolidate his rule over the Jiangnan region, built this Taoist temple for the worship of the gods of heaven and earth, marking the initial construction of Nanjing Chaotian Palace. During the Song Dynasty, Chaotian Palace was repaired and expanded, becoming an important place for royal sacrifices to heaven. Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang of the Ming Dynasty ordered the reconstruction of Chaotian Palace, expanding the scale of the temple. Nanjing Chaotian Palace became the main place for the emperors of the Ming Dynasty to sacrifice to heaven, and the architectural style and artistic decoration of the temple reached its peak.

Nanjing City Museum
In mid-December, the Nanjing City Museum is cold but scenic. The Nanjing City Museum is part of the Chaotian Palace, which is closed on Mondays and free on the 10th of each month. At other times, tickets are sold for 25 yuan. The focus of the Nanjing Museum is not the exhibits (compared with the Nanjing Museum), the Chaotian Palace is currently the largest and best-preserved official ancient architectural complex in the south of the Yangtze River, known as the 'first sight of Jinling'. The lions in front of the gate are rare and cute, pleasing at first sight and lovely at second. Some of the lion's paws have been smoothed to a shine. The gardens, pavilions, and palace walls of the Chaotian Palace are very suitable for taking pictures. It is said that the Chaotian Palace is even more beautiful when the magnolia flowers bloom in spring!
Flavorful Journeys
Nanjing | The ginkgo at Chaotian Palace has turned yellow! A less crowded, niche check-in spot!
Most of the ginkgo at Chaotian Palace is still green (pictures taken on 11.18)
Only two trees are yellow, and they're not completely yellow, but they look better under the sunlight. The weather in Nanjing has been pretty good recently, and the photos taken are also good looking🥳
The first courtyard of Chaotian Palace is free, and the second courtyard charges a fee, 25/person
The yellow ones are currently in the charging area
This place is relatively niche, not too many people, mostly those who bring children to slide
There are also some taking portraits/wedding photos
✌️These two trees are right next to the steps, the effect of taking portraits is very good!

As the Nanjing Museum, today's Nanjing Museum has a collection of 100,000 pieces of cultural relics. It has been traced back to ancient times. The collection of the Republic of China is rich in content, with high history, artistic and scientific value, and is a witness to Nanjing's history. Walk in the Chaotian Palace and believe that no matter who you are, you will be rewarded with a full "history meal."
Photo Guide
This is also a super place for taking pictures. When the flowers are open, like the small Forbidden City, there are often locals who cant go to the Forbidden City. At the red wall of the entrance, here is a very classic photo scene, a red wall with a dragon sculpture on top of it, where you can shoot the nine squares.
The entrance to the ticket gate, directly across the palace, this large open space is very suitable for taking pictures, the sun is still very glaring when we come, so some occlusion work is still very good.
You can take a portrait of the backlight on both sides or like me, I like to expose a brighter picture, or take some sketches is also very good.
The table in front of the palace and the steps on both sides are very good locations for photographing. You can also photograph the buildings above with vertical structure.
This is very suitable for wearing costumes, and we are wearing a small sling black, if you change to a brighter color, it will look better.
Continue to go back to the last place of the Chaotian Palace. It is a small garden. It is a sway from the Jiangnan water town. There are deep stairs on both sides, blue brick and white walls. Very suitable for the place you love to find.
tickets are not expensive, if you can't go to Beijing, then come to Chaotian Palace to see it.

Chaotian Palace is the oldest building with the highest level of architecture, the largest surface area and the most complete preservation in the Jiangnan area.
Even the names of the Chaotian Palace are given by the Ming Taizu Zhu Yuanzhang, the meaning of "seeing the heavens" and "seeing the emperor"
strongly recommend the autumn ginkgo viewing season to travel, the ancient buildings are exceptionally decorated with ginkgo trees. There is a sentiment
here is also a direct unit of the Nanjing Museum. The collections are very exquisite. If you have time, you can carefully look at the two pavilions in the Chaotian Palace. Some of the ancient instruments are exquisite and surprising.
The location of the Chaotian Palace is very good. In the core area of the main city of Nanjing, even in ancient times, it is also the core area of the main city of Nanjing. Through thousands of years of history, we have seen the most shining moments in the history of the river!

As the site of the Nanjing Museum, Chaotian Palace is a comprehensive historical art museum. It is one of the National Museums of Nanjing and one of the national key museums. Nanjing Museum is responsible for the archaeological excavation of underground ruins and ancient tombs in Nanjing, the protection of cultural relics, the collection and preservation of collections, and the display of Nanjing's history in China based on rich cultural relics, literature and research results. Nanjing Museum's architectural system is basically the traditional establishment of the Confucian Temple and the Xuegong Temple; the front of the Temple of Literature is Yunyun, surrounded by tall red enamel walls, and the front of the palace wall has four large characters of Wanxi Palace Wall. From Dachengmen to the north, there are three stone steps on the front, and the upper level is the Dacheng Hall. The hall is tall and open, originally provided with the "Dacheng to the Holy Master position", now the "Nanjing Historical Relics Exhibition." After the Dacheng Hall is the Xianxian Hall, also known as the Chongsheng Temple. It was originally provided with Confucius disciples and the ancestors of the dynasties. The temple is a seven-storey building. It is a relatively well-preserved Qing Dynasty building in the Chaotian Palace building. From the Xianxian Hall to the east, there is a flower wall surrounded by bamboo and bamboo. The entrance to the garden gate is Feiyun Pavilion. The east side of Feiyun Pavilion is the Imperial Pavilion of the octagonal dome. The pavilion has the Emperor Qianlongs four times to come to the Temple of Heaven. Inscription of the inscription. From Feiyun Pavilion to the west is Jingyi Pavilion, which is the highest point of governing the city.

Chaotian Palace is located in Shuishan, Shuiximen, Chaotiangong Street, Qinhuai District, Nanjing. It is the oldest building with the highest level of construction, the largest area and the most complete preservation in the Jiangnan area. The name of the Chaotian Palace is the imperial concubine of the Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang of the Ming Dynasty, taking the meaning of "seeing the heavens" and "seeing the emperor".
The smelting mountain where the Chaotian Palace is located is the location of the smelting city built by Wu Wangfu in the Spring and Autumn Period. It is one of the birthplaces of the main city of Nanjing. After that, it has experienced vicissitudes of life, or is a temple, or a Taoist temple, or a school. During the Ming Dynasty, the Chaotian Palace was the place where the court practiced etiquette before the ceremony, and the place where the officials of the bureaucrats learned to see the manners of the emperor before the seal. During the Tongzhi reign of the Qing Dynasty, it was rebuilt on the original site, from the Taoist architecture of the Song and Yuan Dynasties to the Confucianism Confucian Temple and Jiangning House (the former site of Jiangning House was changed to Nanjing Wu Temple). After the victory of the
Anti-Japanese War, the National Government turned the Nanjing Chaotian Palace into the Nanjing Capital High Court. In 1956, Chaotian Palace was listed as a cultural relics protection unit in Jiangsu Province. In 1978, it was established as a Nanjing Museum. It has been listed as a national key cultural relics protection unit and a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.
