Trip to Helsinki, Finland 🇫🇮
It was a winter trip to Finland with friends and we just love it. As soon as we reached Helsinki airport, we checked visited Market Square for our lunch. Most of the food that we've ordered were good especially salmon and caviar!
We then visited the most famous Helsinki Catheral. It is a distinctive landmark in the Helsinki city. They opened from 9am to 5pm, from Monday to Friday. We reached there around 2pm and it was kinda packed with tourist. We checked with the lady working there and was told that early morning around 9am would have lesser people. If you are here for good pictures, you may take this into consideration.

On the second day, we visited Rovaniemi, a city in Finland. The city was stunning 😍 We checked in to Lapland Hotel Ounasvaara Chalets. We then visited Ounasvaara Ski Centre. My friends doesn't really know how to ski, so we booked 90 minutes personal trainer and it costed her around €110. The view around the area was just so amazing and I would really recommend you to visit. This is my most favourite place to visit in Finland

📍Taunontie 14, 96600 Rovaniemi, Finland
We then visited the most famous Nothernmost McDonald after a tiring day of skiing.

📍Poromiehentie 3, Rovaniemi, Finland 96200
On the third day, we visited Santa Claus Village. It is free to visit and we were able to take some good pictures with the Santa Claus and feel the Christmas vibes ❄️🎄🧑🎄 We also went for Husky Rides. The distance was about 2km and it costs around €45. I was an unforgettable experience and the view down the path was amazing. The whole journey was “fast and furious” 🤣. We also tried Reindeer Sleigh Ride. The distance was about 1km and it costs around €30. I personally like Husky rides better 🥰🥰 But if you have sufficient time, definitely you should try both ‼️

Lastly, we took snowmobile to see the aurora. Due to weather conditions, we were not able to see any. But the experience was really good. Will definitely come back again for the aurora 🥰

While walking to Orthodox Cathedral in Helsinki, Finland. You can see and enjoy walking along the seashore. Lots of seagulls are flying there. Walking time from Train station is just about 10 to 15minutes. Also you can find some store tents their selling some souvenirs, fruits, wine and the Finnish streets food. Maybe it is better to visit this place during weekdays, because the Cathedral is closed during weekends. #helsinki #cathedral #orthodox

Classical and modern aesthetics
Helsinki Cathedral, also known as the White Church. In winter, the square in front of the church is covered with snow, warm lights are lit, and the whole church is holy.
In the magnificent building, there are many exquisite murals and sculptures. Whenever the church bell rings, the whole square falls silent, and many tourists quietly feel this precious moment of peace that only religion can bring to the soul.

Helsinki Catherdal
Helsinki Cathedral is the Evangelical Lutheran cathedral, opened in 1852, located in the city center of Helsinki, on the northern side of Senate Square Finland. This church is the most popular landmark and has become the icon of Helsinki.
The architecture of this church is a neo-classic mix with a Greek Cross and standing tall at 62 meters. This cathedral is open daily from 9 am t6 pmpm, and access to this church is free.
This church still operates as usual, such as hosting masses, weddings and exhibitions. Unfortunately, when I arrived, the church was closed because has passed 6pm. Even though, is still so beautiful from the outside.
Address: Unioninkatu 29, 00170 Helsinki.

The main cathedral in Helsinki, during the day and during night, but it stays very impressive. Go visit the cathedral after going up the stairs, or just enjoy the view when you got upstairs. Or stay down to look at this white beauty #givethanks
Fran DDW
Helsinki Cathedral is the most famous building in Helsinki, located on Parliament Square, a Lutheran church. Built in 1852, the Helsinki Cathedral is a white building with a pale green dome. The structure is exquisite and the atmosphere is extraordinary. It is the essence of Finnish architectural art.
Helsinki Cathedral, also known as the White Church. In the winter, the snow covered the square in front of the church, the warm lights lit up and the whole church was holy.
The building itself is very distinctive: the Greek-style temple building is above the Russian-style dome of the Orthodox Church, indicating that Russia's influence on Finland at that time has far surpassed that of European native culture. The interior of the church is still relatively simple, unlike the complex interiors of traditional Orthodox churches.

Discover Finland's Winter Wonderland with Santa Claus
Finland's winter is a dreamlike feast. As snowflakes gently fall from the sky, the world seems magically transformed into a pure white wonderland. Imagine lying in a glass igloo, gazing at the vibrant Northern Lights—a romance beyond words. Visiting Santa Claus Village in Rovaniemi feels like stepping into a fairy tale, with every breath filled with Christmas joy.
In Helsinki, the aroma of street food at Market Square is irresistible, and the iconic Helsinki Cathedral stands majestically. Enjoy a cup of aromatic hand-brewed coffee or a delicate afternoon tea, making time feel gentle.
At Santa Claus's office, capture precious moments with a photo, and send postcards with exclusive stamps and postmarks to loved ones. Experience traditional Finnish sauna, transitioning from hot to cold for ultimate relaxation. Drive a snowmobile across vast snowy landscapes, with the wind whistling in your ears. Ride a husky sled through the forest, becoming one with nature. And don't miss the thrilling icebreaker cruise, walking on ice and feeling the magic of the polar region. How can one not yearn for such a Finland?

Helsinki | Pink and Purple Sunset and Christmas Market 🎄
Today marks the opening of the Christmas Market in front of Helsinki Cathedral! A giant Christmas tree stands in the center of the square, and the place is bustling with people. The carousel and various colorful lights illuminate the entire market.
It's recommended to visit during sunset to the blue hour for a more romantic winter atmosphere. For a panoramic view, you can walk up the steps to the cathedral's entrance, which offers the best vantage point overlooking the market square. The street directly facing the square is a classic spot for photos, often featured in Helsinki's official tourism promotions.
Try to capture a green tram passing by for the perfect shot. From the market square, you can walk to the illuminated Christmas sculptures in Esplanadi Park or continue along Aleksanterinkatu Street to Kamppi or the Central Railway Station, where the light installations are stunning! In my previous post, I detailed must-visit photo spots in Helsinki's city center, so be sure to check it out!

🚄Transportation: Right outside the airport, there are machines where you can buy tickets. I bought a 7days transport pass. You can find these machines where the subway or bus is available at the Helsinki airport, and they accept credit cards.
1⃣️Finnish people are not as cold as some say, even the elderly ladies are very warm and will greet you with a smile, so don't worry.
2⃣️You can visit each church to check in, representing their different cultures and histories. After visiting them all, you'll find they are not quite the same and require careful appreciation.
3⃣️I went with the intention of visiting Moomin Cafe, but it turns out that all three Moomin cafes listed on Google have closed down 😂. The cafes were there four years ago, but the Moomin merchandise shops are still open. There are two shops you can visit, and I ended up going to the Moomin cafe at airport gate 40, where the Moomin toys are super cute.
4️⃣💰Let's talk about the world's cheapest lv store and tax refund strategy: below 1200 euros you get a 13% refund, from 1200 to 5000 euros you get a 15% refund, and over 5000 euros you get a 17% refund. Getting a 17% refund is not easy; you can only buy three items unless you calculate the price of each item, which is also possible.
5️⃣⚠️Tax refund tip: Remember to process your tax refund before checking in your luggage, and note that the Moomin cafe at the airport closes at 5 pm.

Exploring Helsinki
Helsinki, the capital of Finland, is a city renowned for its design, sea-facing landscape, and vibrant cultural scene. Combining contemporary architecture with classic Nordic traditions, Helsinki offers a tranquil yet dynamic urban environment, making it a fascinating destination for travelers seeking both innovation and history.
What to Expect
Helsinki’s design scene is integral to its identity, with the city being named a UNESCO City of Design. The Design District encompasses several blocks of shops, galleries, and cafes, where local and international designers display their work. Architectural highlights include the futuristic Oodi Library and the historic Helsinki Cathedral. The city's relationship with nature is also evident in its abundant parks and waterfront areas, which offer peaceful retreats from the urban hustle.
Experiences and Recommendations
A visit to Suomenlinna, a sea fortress spread across six islands, provides a scenic and historical day trip accessible by a short ferry ride. The fortress is a UNESCO World Heritage site and offers walking paths, museums, and cafes. Art enthusiasts will appreciate the contemporary Kiasma Museum, as well as the more traditional National Museum of Finland, which provides insights into Finnish history and culture. For a taste of local life, explore the Hakaniemi Market Hall where you can sample Finnish delicacies and shop for handmade crafts.
Tips and Tricks
The best time to visit Helsinki is during the summer months when the city enjoys long, light days and temperatures are comfortable for exploring. However, if you're after a winter wonderland experience, visiting in December through February offers a chance to see Helsinki covered in snow, with opportunities for ice skating and other winter sports. Public transportation is efficient and covers all parts of the city, making it easy to get around without a car.
Personal Reflections
Walking along the shoreline of Helsinki, watching boats drift by against a backdrop of modern architecture juxtaposed with old world buildings, was exceptionally calming. The city’s commitment to public spaces and cultural heritage makes it a model for urban living, where history and progress harmonize beautifully.
Helsinki's charm lies in its ability to maintain a serene, orderly atmosphere while promoting cutting-edge design and culture. This unique blend makes it an ideal destination for those looking to immerse themselves in a progressive yet deeply traditional urban setting.

Helsinki Best Getaways
Out of all the vibrant cities I’ve traveled to, my week exploring the colorful streets of Helsinki stands out as exceptionally charming. As I strolled down cobbled lanes lined with eclectic shops and cafes in the Design District, I was struck by the way Helsinki seamlessly blended modern style with history. Each day I discovered new gems – the towering Helsinki Cathedral overlooking the harbor, the bustling Market Square bursting with flowers and fresh Finnish produce, the exotic aromas wafting through the Old Market Hall. In the evenings, I loved seeing locals relax alongside tourists enjoying a drink on the sun-drenched outdoor patios. No matter how exhausted I felt from cramming museums and galleries into my days, the energy and warmth from the streets re-energized me every night. What made Helsinki unforgettable wasn’t just the sights but the welcoming, creative spirit that enveloped the city. When it came time to leave, saying goodbye to my favorite neighborhood coffee shop felt just as difficult as bidding the Northern Lights farewell. More than postcard-perfect attractions, it was those long, golden summer days getting lost down hidden side alleys with interesting faces and places waiting around every corner that made Helsinki the highlight of my visit to Finland.

amazing view of the Helsinki Cathedral
I recently traveled to Helsinki for a long weekend the people are like the city.
both are wonderful, it was a great visit, going through the city centre, along with other landmarks like the rock church and the old market hall.
it was slightly colder than U.K. but the cool temp is actually rather nice and it snowed a little which made an already gorgeous city even prettier.
