Explore the Autumn and Winter Scenery of Guangzhou: 30 Years of Local Secrets
After 30 years of exploring Guangzhou, I can confidently say that the city is at its most beautiful from October to December!
Once upon a time, people said that it was hard to find autumn in Guangzhou. As a native of the city, I used to agree. However, after embarking on a journey to find it, I discovered that Guangzhou from October to December is like a colorful autumn painting, beautiful enough to intoxicate the soul.
Golden Rain Trees Bloom in October, Dyeing the Autumn Light
When the golden rain trees bloom, it means that autumn has arrived in Lingnan. You can occasionally see the tall trees on the streets of Guangzhou. They are like messengers of autumn, exuding their unique charm in the corners of the city. Zhongshi Street is a short walk from Exit A2 of Fangcun Station on Metro Line 1. Agile Panyu is a little far away, but the golden rain trees there are extraordinary. The Litchi Bay Dashan River Wetland is also a great place to see the trees, with their golden flowers and green leaves adding a touch of brightness to autumn.
Bougainvillea Blooms, Creating a Colorful Autumn
From late October to early November, Guangzhou's bougainvillea is in full bloom. The orange, yellow, and pink flowers blend together like a beautiful sunset. The Happiness Community under the overpass next to No. 1 Chigang Road in Haizhu District is a great place to see the flowers. Walking among them is like being in a sea of flowers, intoxicated by the charming autumn.
Golden Rice Fields, Lingnan Autumn in Full Swing
If you want to see the beauty of golden rice fields, you don't have to go to Guangxi. There are many beautiful places around Guangzhou. Gangtou Village, Baiyun Town Huxiangsi Street, Luodong Craftsman Town, and Amy Rice Fragrance Town are all about an hour's drive from the city center, but the scenery along the way is beautiful, and it's worth the drive or taxi ride. The autumn wind blows, the rice waves, and the golden waves convey the joy of harvest and the tranquility of autumn.
Kapok Blooms, Pink Clouds Adorn the Warm Winter
From late October to December, the pink kapok blooms like clouds falling from the sky, gentle and healing. Yongqingfang, Pazhou Bridge South, Luhu Park, Datang, and Flower City Square are all great places to see the flowers. Luhu Park is especially beautiful, with the kapok in full bloom in 2024, attracting countless tourists to take photos and becoming a beautiful winter landscape in Guangzhou.
Bald Cypress, Water Reflections of Autumn Forests
From November to mid-January, the bald cypress is undoubtedly the most autumnal sight in Guangzhou. Huangpodong Reservoir, Daguan Wetland Park, Luhu Park, Haizhu Lake Park, Dongshan Lake Park, and Green Valley Creative Park all have large numbers of the trees. The bald cypress changes color in autumn and winter, from green to yellow to red-brown, and the colorful reflections in the water create a poetic and picturesque scene that is unforgettable.
