An Ancient Town Built on Cliff Edges: Ronda
Traveling freely in Spain, after leaving Granada, we headed to our next destination, the white mountain town built on sheer cliffs: Ronda, a town that leaves people in awe.
Ronda is a town located in southern Spain, in Andalusia. It is the birthplace of the world-famous Spanish bullfighting. But what is most astonishing is the Puente Nuevo, a bridge spanning two cliffs, with a gorge 120 meters deep. The town is built on the cliffs, divided by the bridge into the old town and the new town.
To capture the spectacular cliffs and the Puente Nuevo from above, you can walk down a winding path along the river valley to reach the best photography spot. However, the vantage point is also on a cliff edge, so you need to be very careful when taking photos.
Besides the cliffs and the Puente Nuevo, the Ronda Bullring is also a must-visit. This circular bullring, built of stone, is the oldest in Spain and is quite a sight to behold.

New Bridge
The Puente Nuevo is the newest and largest of the three bridges that spanned the 120 meters deep chasm that carries the Guadalevin River and divides the city of Ronda.
It was built between 1759 to 1793 by Jose Martin de Aldehuela, an impressive single arch placed on the middle, flanked by two more on either side.
The best views we can see of the new bridge are located at the end of a small path that runs from the Plaza de Maria Auxiliadora.
People dream of a day trip to Ronda from Malaga or Seville, hoping to see this bridge and the breathtaking panorama of the tajo gorge. It is not surprising that the locals and tourists are so fascinated by its incredible design.

The most famous attraction of Ronda is the Ronda New Bridge built in 1735. It spans the Eltajo Gorge and connects the new and old cities of Ronda to the top of the cliff.
Wandering aimlessly in the alley of Ronda, I found a street performer playing beautiful songs, a dog smiling at me on the balcony, or seeing a loving couple Walking hand in hand. Let yourself slow down and carefully discover all the beauty of the world.

Ronda - a must visit
I recently had the pleasure of visiting Ronda, and it exceeded all my expectations. Nestled in the heart of Andalusia, this charming town offers a perfect blend of history, breathtaking scenery, and authentic Spanish culture.
The highlight of Ronda has to be the stunning Puente Nuevo, a dramatic bridge that spans a deep gorge, offering jaw-dropping views of the surrounding countryside. Whether you’re a photography enthusiast or simply appreciate natural beauty, this spot is awe-inspiring. Walking through the cobbled streets, I felt transported back in time, surrounded by beautiful whitewashed houses, quaint shops, and tapas bars brimming with delicious local flavors.
Ronda’s rich history is palpable, from its fascinating Arab baths to the oldest bullring in Spain, the Plaza de Toros. Even if you’re not a fan of bullfighting, the museum is worth a visit to understand the deep cultural roots of this tradition.
What also stood out to me was the warmth of the locals. Despite being a popular tourist destination, Ronda has retained its authentic, welcoming atmosphere. I found myself enjoying leisurely evenings in the town’s plazas, sipping wine and soaking in the relaxed pace of life.
If you’re planning a trip to Andalusia, make sure to include Ronda in your itinerary. It’s a place where history meets nature, offering an unforgettable experience. Whether you’re interested in exploring historical sites, enjoying picturesque landscapes, or simply relaxing in a charming town, Ronda truly has something for everyone.#ronda #andalucia #Southernspain

🇪🇸The Famous Ronda Bridge🇪🇸✨A magnificent creation💕
🇪🇸Radiant Ronda🇪🇸
We now visit one of the most famous landmark and important sight in Ronda✨
✨~Ronda Bridge, Puente Nuevo~✨
Also known as “New Bridge”,
Puente Nuevo in Ronda is a great bridge, which is recognized as the eternal symbol of Ronda. It is always depicted on postcards and in travel guide books but Puente Nuevo is not a simple engineering structure.
It looks like a fortress carved into the cliffs. Its foundation stands on the bottom of the abyss, the Ronda bridge is built of carved stone. The stone for construction was mined right at the bottom of the ravine.
It is such a magnificent sight and one would think how they actually built this amazing thing back then. There was always a purpose and reason and often times it becomes a very important symbol of a city.
We also pass by a Parador, a luxurious hotel chain located only on or near famous sights Around the country of Spain.

💫Encounter Spain's 'Sky City'—Ronda, a romantic encounter with the white ancient city🌸
🌞The sunshine in Spain is always so bright and intense. When I set foot on the land of Andalusia, 🏰Ronda, this white ancient city, felt like a dream coming out of a painting.
🏞️Walking into Ronda feels like traveling through time, arriving in an ancient world from 3000 years ago. Surrounded by city walls, narrow streets, and Islamic-style buildings, it feels like being in an exotic medieval setting. 🌳The breeze in the almond blossom forest, with a faint fragrance, brushes against the cheeks, as if embraced by nature.
🌄Standing on the observation deck, the spectacular view of the valley takes one's breath away. At that moment, I seemed to understand why Ronda is hailed as one of the most beautiful towns in Spain.
🐂Speaking of Ronda, how can we not mention the famous bullfighting culture? This is the birthplace of modern Spanish bullfighting, and the passionate competitions in the bullring make one feel the enthusiasm and bravery of the Spanish people.
🌉Between the old city and the new city, a new bridge spans across, connecting the past and the future. Walking on the bridge, one can feel the intertwining of historical weight and modern vitality.
💖Ronda, this white town built on a cliff, made me feel endless romance and surprise. Every scenery seems like a meticulously carved artwork by nature, making one linger and forget to return.
💕If you also long for an encounter with history and an embrace with nature, then come to Ronda! Here, you will find the poetry and distance you desire.

In the middle of Ronda, there's an incredible bridge that you can visit for free. It's super cool and unique, with amazing views of the gorges below.
Walking across this bridge, it's hard to imagine how people built it in the past. The natural rock formations around it are also really impressive.
The views from the bridge are fantastic, and it's a great place to take in the beauty of Ronda. Whether you're interested in history, nature, or just want to see something amazing, this bridge is a must-see.

Walking guide and 'pitfall avoidance' tips for the New Bridge in Ronda, Spain
Ronda, deservedly known as 'the city built in the clouds', is beautiful, comfortable, and free. To fully appreciate the beauty of the city's landmark - the New Bridge of Ronda, you need to put in some thought
🗓From the viewing platforms around the New Bridge, you can capture the angle as shown in picture 1. If you want to capture the view from below as shown in picture 2, you need to locate 📍Mirador La Hoya Del Tajo (Lookout Point)
📝However! The shortcut route given by Google map is closed in the middle! So you can add a stopover point 📍Ruinas de la Alcazaba, take a detour, and when you see the sign in picture 3 at the stopover point, you can go down the stairs on the right. It takes about half an hour to walk from the New Bridge to the destination.
After reaching the destination and taking photos, if you see many people continue to climb up the mountain, that! is! not! a! shortcut! The road ahead is still closed as tested, so you can only return the same way... The scenery on this trip is very good, but it is indeed a bit intense to go down the mountain and then up the mountain. If you don't do much outdoor exercise normally, please consider it carefully. I tried to take a taxi back up the mountain, but found it cost 60 euros , poverty made me climb up again~
If it's sunset, on the way back, pass by the stopover point 📍Ruinas de la Alcazaba again, take some photos on the city wall, it's very photogenic and you can see the pink sunset (pictures 456).
Wishing everyone a happy Year of the Dragon, and a smooth trip to Ronda~

The cliff town created by God - Ronda, Spain.
If your schedule allows, I suggest driving for over an hour to visit the Longda ancient town, now that you have arrived in Marbella.
The town is very small, although there are not many attractions, mainly around the New Bridge, but just seeing the city built on a cliff is enough to shock people! You can check in at the local restaurant during meal time and try the local cuisine. The grilled shrimp is delicious, but the sheep cheese there is really hard to accept. Because the location is facing the New Bridge and the cliff, it is normal to overcharge tourists, but compared to Switzerland, the prices are not a big deal.
Take a seat and enjoy the view of the city on the cliff in this small town, rather than rushing through it. Although this world is full of wonders, such a spectacle is not common.

Longda New Bridge - PUENTE NUEVO DE RONDA
Ronda, Md laga, Andalucia, Espana
The Puente Nuevo spans the El Tajo Gorge, dividing the picturesque and historic city of Longda in two.
·Puente Nuevo is the newest and largest of the three bridges spanning a 120-meter deep valley in Longda. It was first built in 1751 and took 42 years to complete. The bridge is as high as 98 meters, equivalent to a 30-story building.
The arch of the bridge in the middle conceals a room of about 60 square meters, which used to be a detention center for death row inmates. It is now closed and can only be viewed from a distance from the side of the bridge.
Puente Nuevo is one of the most photographed buildings in Spain. Standing at the foot of the gorge, one may feel as if in a dream: rows of white houses perched on the steep cliffs, like white clouds spreading from the mountain slopes to the sky.
