Christmas sai gon
#magicalxmastrip Christmas in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) offers a vibrant blend of traditional Vietnamese culture and global holiday festivities. While Vietnam doesn’t widely celebrate Christmas as a religious event, the city embraces it as a joyful occasion, making it a delightful destination during the holiday season.
The streets are adorned with sparkling lights, especially around District 1, where landmarks like Notre-Dame Cathedral and the Saigon Central Post Office take center stage. The nearby pedestrian street, Nguyễn Huệ, becomes a festive hotspot, with giant Christmas trees, interactive light displays, and themed decorations that attract locals and tourists alike.
Shopping malls such as Vincom Center and Takashimaya go all out with lavish holiday decor and festive sales. Additionally, Phạm Ngũ Lão Street and Bùi Viện in the backpacker district offer a livelier Christmas vibe, featuring street performances and parties.
Local bakeries and cafes embrace the season by selling Christmas-themed treats, including decorated cakes and pastries. Restaurants and hotels often serve special Christmas menus, blending Western and Vietnamese flavors.
One unique highlight is the cultural fusion; families and friends gather for photoshoots in front of elaborately decorated churches and public spaces, capturing the joyous spirit of the season. Midnight Mass at major churches, like Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica, draws crowds, regardless of their faith.
In Saigon, Christmas is less about tradition and more about celebration and community. It’s an immersive, colorful experience filled with lights, music, and culinary delights, perfect for anyone looking to enjoy a unique take on the holiday season.

The Yellow Post Office in Ho Chi Minh City
Saigon Central Post Office, with its yellow building contrasting with green door and window frames, is considered one of the most beautiful tourist attractions in Vietnam. It is said that anyone who has the chance to visit Vietnam or Ho Chi Minh City must visit this building. The beauty of both the exterior and interior, along with the various architectural elements used in its construction, makes this one of the top tourist destinations for all visitors.
Saigon Central Post Office, Vietnam Group Tour
This post office is located in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City, near the Saigon Notre-Dame Basilica. The building was constructed when Vietnam was part of France, in the late 19th century, influenced by Gothic Renaissance architecture. It was built between 1886 and 1891.
The initial design of the Saigon Central Post Office was by Gustave Eiffel, the same French architect who designed the Eiffel Tower and the Statue of Liberty. However, 23 years later, it was redesigned and rebuilt by another architect during the Renaissance Revival period, making it one of the most beautiful buildings in Vietnam. From the outside, it might resemble a train station, as there is a large clock above the arched entrance. Inside, the ceiling is also arched, giving a grand feeling. The building is supported by green iron pillars, similar to European train stations of the 20th century. The walls on both sides feature large, beautifully detailed maps. The post office is still in operation today, and you can send mail from here back to Thailand if you wish.

What can you do in Ho Chi Minh City in one day?
Summary of a one-day tour in Ho Chi Minh City
🎈 Depart from the hotel at 7 AM, and first head to the must-visit egg coffee in Ho Chi Minh City. The coffee and toast here taste great. Highly recommended! Photos 6-8
💒 First stop: Pink Church. This is a vintage French-style building and is quite worth a visit. You can go to the rooftop of the restaurant opposite to take photos, which will be more photogenic. Photos 1-2
🏤 Second stop: Central Post Office. Every corner is filled with great photo opportunities, with old mailboxes and vintage phone booths full of stories, all very charming. Here, you can write a postcard to send to friends and family. Photos 3-4
🏢 Third stop: Coffee Apartment. An old apartment building converted into a coffee and dining-focused building. You need to pay to take the elevator. Photo 5
☕ Fourth stop: Cafe ngam may bay near the airport. The cafe is located on the 5th floor of a residential building next to the airport. Navigate to the cafe's name, get off, enter an alley, and you will see a huge sign. Enter the elevator to the 5th floor. The view here is great. Photo 7
This is my one-day tour summary. I hope it helps you.

Vietnam Travel Guide | Almost got heatstroke in Ho Chi Minh
In Ho Chi Minh for a few days it was:
💒 Checking out attractions
🍜 Eating Vietnamese noodles
☕️ Drinking coffee
🛍️ Shopping for clothes
💆♀️ Getting a massage
1️⃣ About attractions
- If you have time, the Central Post Office/Pink Church/Art Gallery/War Remnants Museum are all worth a visit
- The Central Post Office is quite small, and there are some souvenir shops inside
- We went to the Pink Church on the weekend when it was closed, so we just took photos at the coffee shop opposite
- The Art Gallery is relatively large and worth visiting, also very photogenic
- The War Remnants Museum is the most popular, mainly about the history of the Vietnam War, and there are a lot of Western visitors
2️⃣ About Vietnamese noodles
- Didn't specifically plan to eat at any particular place, just randomly went to a Vietnamese noodle shop near the Central Post Office, turned out to be a hidden gem
- Picture 10, the shop name is pho cao van
- Ordered two bowls of beef noodles with a whole 🥥 for only 45 RMB
- There was also a compatriot eating there who didn't have cash, so he exchanged with us on WeChat. When paying, we told the owner we would pay together, and when she saw we were not at the same table, she told the compatriot not to worry about it and to come back after exchanging money.
3️⃣ About coffee
- Visited the popular ones like the workshop coffee / dabao / Linh, etc.
- Vietnamese coffee is really good! Especially the salted coffee, which is salty and sweet!
- Coconut coffee is too sweet for me, but those who like sweet drinks can try it
4️⃣ About shopping
- If you want to keep it simple, just go to D Nguyen Trai street
- I don't think you need to specifically look for a certain store, many of the stores recommended online didn't have anything great, and some of the more popular ones were of average quality
- Anyway, there are super many clothing stores on this street, if you have time you can visit each one
- The green short-sleeved shirt in pictures 5/8/11 was just from a random store, only 55 yuan!! And the quality is pretty good
5️⃣ About massage
- Massage shops are everywhere, but still check Google Maps for reviews according to your needs
- I had a body massage at Norah spa, the environment is relatively better, comfort level is average, similar to domestic ones, but definitely cheaper
- Had a hair wash at Xuan Lan Spa&Hair, also not expensive, quite formal, worth experiencing
- Both of these shops are on the same street, very close to each other, and there are also some clothing stores nearby like Datt/ S.C Studio etc.
- Finally, make sure to wear sunscreen, Ho Chi Minh is really super hot and the sun is extremely strong! It feels like melting on the streets during the day!

Saigon-The pearl of the far east
My 1-day trip to Saigon was a fantastic experience, and one of the highlights was visiting the Saigon Post Office. The post office is a beautiful colonial building that showcases the city's rich history and architectural beauty.
Upon entering the post office, I was immediately struck by its grandeur and old-world charm. The interior is adorned with elegant French-inspired designs, from the high ceilings with ornate chandeliers to the intricate mosaic floor.
One of the main attractions of the Saigon Post Office is the stunning central hall, which houses numerous counters for sending and receiving mail. The atmosphere was bustling with activity as locals and tourists alike went about their postal needs. It was fascinating to witness the efficiency and organized operation of this historic post office.
I also had the opportunity to explore the many small shops within the post office, where I found a variety of unique souvenirs, stamps, and postcards to bring back home. The staff was friendly and helpful, providing me with recommendations and information about the post office's history.
Overall, my 1-day trip to Saigon and the Saigon Post Office was a delightful experience. I highly recommend visiting this iconic landmark for its architectural beauty, historical significance, and the chance to capture a glimpse of Saigon's vibrant atmosphere. Inggat! ❤️👋#Saigon #Vietnam #Southest Asia #Young #solotravel

an ACTUAL post office to visit in Vietnam 💌🏤
#timetotravel
I am pleasantly surprised by the fact that the Vietnamese has turned an active post office (that is still in operation) into a tourist attraction where you can buy stamps, postcards and other souvenirs and mail it internationally. This is so smart!!
I did some digging by the shop and managed to get two really cute stamp sets for 120,000 Dong each (~40 HKD each).
I remember seeing it costs around 50,000 Dong (~17 HKD) to send a postcard internationally but do check with the counter if you intent to send a postcard.
NOTE: the post office closed at 5pm so make sure you do not miss its opening hours

One of my favorite place to visit in Ho Chi Minh city, it's called Saigon Central Post Office.
Located in the heart of Ho Chi Minh city, Saigon Central Post Office has various type of postcards and souvenirs. Tourist can come here, pick their favorite postcards, write on them, and send immediately to all over the world through this post office. Many cute Vietnam souvenirs also available here.
The location is just next to the beautiful Basilica Notre-Dome Saigon. You can go here by motorbike taxi from your hotel. It's cheap and fast ✨

Keeping mail alive
The most beautiful post office in the world, the reviews aren’t wrong. The building itself is incredible and there are so many details everywhere, I spent an hour just looking at the building.
Then there are the gift shops and postal memorabilia, if you’re interested in stamps and coins this is a great spot for you.
I sent my parents a postcard to keep up with a family tradition, wish you were here!
The book street is right down the side of the post office so it’s a good spot to start an afternoon wander

Wonderful Sai Gon central post office
The central post office is one of the most beautiful buildings in Ho Chi Minh City. It was built in 1891 when Vietnam was part of French Indochina. It counts with Gothic, Renaissance and French influences.
Now the post office building is one of the main tourist attractions in Ho Chi Minh City. Right on the spot, you can buy a beautiful postcard and send it to your friends or yourself to keep the memory of this place alive.

Ho Chi Minh
Deemed as a microcosm of Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh City, formerly known as Saigon, is a melting pot of culture and an extravaganza of culinary delights. Albeit relatively young compared to Hanoi and Danang, Ho Chi Minh City, endowed with a rich and colorful history as well as staple yet delicious food, is far from lagging behind these two cities in terms of tourism. One of Vietnam’s most visited destinations, this city can be described as an amalgam of a fast-paced life and a rich inheritance.
Ho Chi Minh City is emerging as a quintessential cosmopolitan city with the construction of many mega-malls, entertainment complexes and an enhanced public transport system. Travelers can now have more choices to put in their itineraries other than traditional tourist attractions like the Notre Dame Cathedral or the Central Post Office. Also, there are now many types of restaurants and accommodation, ranging from budget hostels to luxury hotels, to opt for. A trip to Ho Chi Minh City will both fulfill your expectation of a rising Southeast Asian hub and surpass your imagination of any typical exotic tropical land.

Central Post Office Vietnam
Another experience in ho chi Minh city to visit the post office. Inside it's similar to the market you can buy some souvenir. Just want to attractive place for tourism as well when they come to Ho chi Minh city. When you come to the Catholic church turn to the right you will see this building as well. When you come here I'd recommend you to walk rather than rent a motorbike.

Central Post Office - Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam
The beautiful building of the Central Post Office is one of the oldest buildings in Ho Chi Minh City. Its construction began in 1886 according to the design of Gustave Eiffel himself. The spacious hall of the grandiose building is decorated with a mosaic depicting the former President of the country Ho Chi Minh opposite the main entrance, and on both sides you can see several painted maps of Vietnam.
The Central Post Office, with its ornate vaulted ceiling, ornate tiled floor, and old-fashioned telephone booths, is still in operation today. There are even shops where you can buy postcards, stamps and other souvenirs.

Saigon Central Post Office
This is another place you can't miss in Ho Chi Minh City because it is one of the most beautiful post offices in the world.
🏫🏫 Located near Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica of Saigon, the building is a colonial architecture, beautifully designed, with yellow contrasting with green. The interior is equally beautiful, with a curved roof structure, high ceilings, and a luxurious look. You can go in and see its beauty.

Ho Chi Minh
Just came back from Ho Chi Minh from 20-23/7/22 , overall is very pleasant trip. traffic is full of motorbike , please take note that when crossing the pedestrian walk although it’s green colour which can will stop , but motorists CAN STILL CROSS, you can also consider experiencing the water bus which is also cheap.
Holiday Mood
The architecture makes it well worth a visit if you are in the area. It's quite interesting inside with all the hustle and bustle of the post office counters and tourist trinkets for sale. I liked the row of old phone boxes, looked like something out of a cold war film.

Speaking of the post office, it seems that the Internet has faded out of the eyes of today's Internet. There is almost no such concept in the minds of young people. Only elderly people occasionally recall that when they were young, they sent letters to the post office and sent parcels to these old memories. However, in Vietnam, the Ho Chi Minh Central Post Office has become one of the must-see attractions of Ho Chi Minh. The Central Post Office of Ho Chi Minh was built at the end of the 19th century. It is a small yellow French building. Full of a strong French atmosphere. Today the Central Post Office has become a famous landmark in Ho Chi Minh City. Visitors to Vietnam did not come here to visit. The clock with the traces of the years above the main entrance of the small building records the pace of visitors here every day.

Ho Chi Minh Central Post Office, an intriguing yellow house in the center of Ho Chi Minh has a yellow old building left by the French colonial period. In 1886, this building with Eiffel's designer came into being. It has been around for hundreds of years. History, this is the Central Post Office. The vaults, counters, chandeliers, and post boxes in the Central Post Office are used as usual, but more tourists are coming and going, and Vietnamese people taking photos as a backdrop. Here you can visit the world maps of the earliest French hand-painted.
Want to take a photo of Meimei, just sculpt the shape near the yellow building. The blue sky building and railings are saturated and very bright.

Formerly known as the Saigon Central Post Office, the Central Post Office was a French-style building that was left behind during the French colonial rule in the late 19th century. After winning the independence of the nation-state, Vietnam changed its name to the Central Post Office of Ho Chi Minh. It is now a famous tourist attraction in Vietnam and is also a must in Ho Chi Minh City. The place to punch in.
The Central Post Office is from the hands of the famous French designer Gustave Eiffel, the famous Eiffel Tower and Statue of Liberty in the world. Masters must be fine, and it seems that without thinking too much, you can feel the grandeur of the Central Post Office and have a romantic atmosphere with the French Eiffel Tower.
Time flies, the ancient central post office is gradually fixed as a city memory, and has now become a landmark building in Ho Chi Minh City. The bustling crowd seems to get used to the old city of the city, but they have already been written into the historical torrent .

This is Ho Chi Minhs Central Post Office, very close to the Reunification Palace and close to the Red Church. From the Reunification Palace, I searched for the Red Church according to Baidu map. However, the Red Church was under maintenance. At first, I saw the Central Post Office on the map very close to it, but I didnt expect it to be a road. Here is the role of the post office, but now But like a small market, some people buy things here, and some people send letters here, rich and colorful.

The Central Post Office of Ho Chi Minh City, a light pink building, looks very beautiful at first glance. Built in France from 1886 to 1891, it was officially opened in 1892, when Vietnam was part of the French Indochina, the first post office in Vietnam during the French colonial period. Today, it still retains the function of the post office, but it is more like an attraction. There are ancient telephone booths on both sides of the entrance, coupled with classical large ceiling fans and European-style floor tiles. The beautiful French dome has a typical French style and the hall is hung deep. Portrait of Ho Chi Minh, the leader of the Vietnamese people. Exquisite parquet tiles, turquoise and crimson radiating beams and columns are very classical. You can also buy a variety of souvenirs, as well as Miss Saigon perfume. You can also buy a few postcards, share your feelings with friends, and remind yourself after years of forgetting that you have had happiness.

Into the post office, the vaults, flower windows, counters, chandeliers, telephone rooms, post boxes, etc., all have a strong European classical atmosphere. The spacious hall is lined with circular benches. On both sides of the hall is a counter for business. There is a map of Vietnam on each side of the wall.
