🌳In the green mountains and clear waters of eastern Zhejiang, there is a hidden ancient village that will make your heart race - Zhongcun, in Luting Township, Yuyao City. It's like a slowly unfolding Jiangnan ink painting, quietly telling a thousand-year story!
⛰️Zhongcun is located deep in the eastern foothills of the Siming Mountains, surrounded by mountains, with beautiful mountains and clear waters. The terrain is high in the south and low in the north. Xiaolu Creek flows through the village, dividing it into two parts, forming a landscape of facing each other across the bank. The geographical environment is naturally endowed, and it is known as a god-given feng shui treasure land. According to the "Stone Pool Gong Clan Genealogy", during the Tang Dynasty, the Stone Pool Gong Clan was attracted by the feng shui of this place and moved their entire clan to build a village here, and since then, they have thrived on this land. During the Southern Song Dynasty, the Zheng Clan of Henan also moved here to avoid the war, and the two families jointly wrote the glorious chapter of Zhongcun.
🌉Baiyun Bridge: Spanning Xiaolu Creek, it was first built during the Zhenguan period of the Tang Dynasty and rebuilt in the 16th year of Guangxu's reign during the Qing Dynasty. It is a single-arch stone bridge with a steep arch, with a total length of 25.3 meters and a maximum arch height of 6.6 meters. It is like a rainbow leaping across the two banks. The bridge body is engraved with two pairs of couplets, full of poetry and ancient charm, making it a great place for photography enthusiasts.
🌲Xiaolu Creek: The root and soul of Zhongcun, the creek water is crystal clear and sparkling. The gravel in the creek is uneven, colliding with the flowing water to create white splashes, making a rustling sound. The ancient trees on both sides of the bank are towering and lush, covering the creek tightly. In spring, the greenery is lush, in summer it is fresh and cool, in autumn it is colorful, and in winter it is a picture of northern scenery.
🐉Xiansheng Temple: Built in the Southern Song Dynasty, it is a Taoist temple. The courtyard-style building is divided into two sections, with the "Eastern Peak Emperor" seated in the center of the main hall, and the Four Dragon Kings on both sides. The ancient stage in the temple is one of the earliest surviving stages in Ningbo, and its exquisite construction technology and unique acoustic effects are breathtaking.

Zhongcun in the Siming Mountain farmhouse
During the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, I drove a business van with my parents and set off from Suzhou. After a 3.5-hour drive, we arrived at the Zhongcun scenic area in Siming Mountain, a less crowded and particularly nice place.
The navigation led us to the Zhongcun parking lot, which is also the tourist center, with free parking. The first thing we saw was a row of stone steps leading to the opposite bank, where the water was very clear.
Walking along the footpath on the opposite bank, you can see several semi-circular cobblestone-built pools in the river. From a certain angle, it really looks like the scenery of Xiaoqikong in Guizhou. (The last picture is the scenery of Xiaoqikong in Guizhou).

A good place for a leisurely slow life
A couple of days ago, taking advantage of the weekend and good weather, I took my dog on a self-driving trip to Ningbo. On the way back, I rushed to the Zhongcun Scenic Area in Yuyao Siming Mountain to take a look. Around noon, I arrived at the Zhongcun Scenic Area. A long stream runs through Zhongcun. The stream is clear and the bottom is visible, and the walkways on both sides of the stream are well maintained. I took pictures while walking, integrating myself and my dog into nature. It's super leisurely, and I met travel companions from Shanghai, Taizhou and other places along the way. If you come in summer, it must be even better. You can play in the water and swim. The air is good, the water quality is good, it's a natural oxygen bar.

Today I'm sharing a self-driving tour route centered on Jiaokou Reservoir, with metasequoia, ginkgo and mountain villages along the way. It's a less crowded route with pleasant scenery, where you can take pictures at will on Saturdays.
