It has been a week since the AEC - European Association of Conservatoires annual congress took place in Milan. Yet another opportunity to get in touch with a very diverse group of people from the higher music education institutions - students, teachers, researchers, managers, etc. All of them not only highly competent, but also passionate and enthusiastic about music education in all possible shapes and colours. Riccardo Ceni, his Colleagues at the Conservatorio di Milano and the very professional AEC Office team have done impressive job organising the record (over 500 participants!) event. The great Lifelong Learning WG within the ARTEMIS project has finished its activities. Beatriz Laborda, Esther Viñuela Lozano, Kadri Steinbach, Brendan Breslin - it was such a privilege to collaborate with you over the last couple of years! Thank you for the last session which provided a lot of important insights, but also a bit of fun that was so typical for our WG. Moderating a parallel session which was focused on the third mission of conservatoires I had a chance to have a closer look at various approaches that HMEIs employ while contributing to the society-at-large. A thought-provoking area for research and practice alike. I had a new task this year - as an AEC Council member representing Akademia Muzyczna im. Krzysztofa Pendereckiego w Krakowie I was entrusted with chairing one of the Regional Group meetings. It was a very inspiring experience - Colleagues from Polish, Czech and Hungarian academies of music shared their observations and reflections on the conditions of HMEIs in our region, identifying strengths and opportunities, as well as threats for development of higher music education in our respective countries. Still thinking of the Milan meeting, I am looking forward to the 2025 AEC Congress in Salzburg! #highermusiceducation, #musicteacher, #musicstudent, #lifelonglearning, #thirdmission, #AMKP

📣 We are happy to share that AEC Executive Director Finn Schumacker is attending Linecheck IT in Milan to participate in the Music Moves Europe dialogue session. In the post-digital era, where #digitisation has transformed every aspect of life and has reshaped industries, the role of ethics in innovative technologies has become increasingly critical. Ethical considerations must address issues like appropriate #remuneration for #creators, the impact of #AI on creators and their artistic expression, and the role of platforms to help foster a diverse and inclusive music ecosystem. 👉 More info here: https://lnkd.in/dVJEMvgp #musicmoveseurope #digitalera #music #musicecosystem
