✨ What an incredible event! ✨ Our panel discussion, “2025 Economic Outlook: Who’s the new pilot on the plane?”, held on Monday, December 9, 2024, was a great success. With insightful discussions led by Florence Pisani (Global Head of Macro Research, Candriam) and Anton Brender (Chief Economist, Candriam) and skillfully moderated by Geoffroy Goenen from the Belgian Finance Center, we explored pressing global economic questions: ✈️ America first or compromise? ✈️ China’s wake-up call? ✈️ Europe, mayday? From economic slowdowns to international tensions, our panel tackled the challenges politics and central banks will face in 2025 with clarity and depth. 📢 Meet the second speaker for our event, “2025 Economic Outlook: Who’s the new pilot on the plane?” ✈️ 🎙️ Florence Pisani, Global Head of Macro Research Candriam Holder of a Ph.D. in Economics of Université Paris Dauphine - PSL, Florence Pisani is currently Global Head of Economic Research with Candriam. She previously worked as an economist with the French investment bank CPR. Florence Pisani is also teaching at the Université Paris Dauphine - PSL. She published several books with Anton Brender. The last ones published by the CEPS are: The Sovereign Debt Crisis: Placing a Curb On Growth (2012) Money, Finance and the Real Economy: What went wrong? Holding a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Paris I, he started his journey at CEPII, a French think tank focused on the global economy, where he became Director in 1990. In 1992, he joined CPR as Chief Economist and later moved to Candriam in 2002, where he continues to serve as Chief Economist. Anton also teaches at Université Paris Dauphine - PSL and has published numerous books, including The American Economy: A European View (2018) and The Macroeconomics of Debt: Europe’s Blind Spot (2021). In 2014, Valéry expanded his expertise to the Democratic Republic of Congo, serving as Director of Development for Orbis SA and as interim President of the Insurance Brokers Chamber. Beyond his corporate roles, he teaches Casualty Insurance at ESMK in Kinshasa and is a Partner at Triangle Partners S.A./N.V., managing insurance programs for large corporates and NGOs.
