The European Commission has officially published the delegated regulation (EU) 2024/1398 extending the duration of the Review Programme from 31 December 2024 to 31 December 2030. This DA will enter into force from the 11th of June, 2024. Link: https://bit.ly/3wTbHSw The Review Programme under the Biocidal Products Regulation (BPR) is a comprehensive work programme designed to systematically evaluate all active substances used in biocidal products that were already on the market before the BPR came into force. It ensures the continued market access of approved active substances, the phase-out of non-approved substances, and encourages innovation by pushing companies to develop safer and more effective biocidal products.

Starting February 1, 2026, new guidelines concerning the assessment of risks to bees from the use of biocides will be in effect! The competent national authorities have recently announced that this Guidance will apply to active substance approvals and biocidal product authorizations for applications submitted on or after the aforementioned date. What does this mean for you? If you're considering submitting applications related to biocides, be sure to familiarize yourself with these new regulations to ensure compliance. Rest assured, applications submitted before February 1, 2026 and the assessment of active substances in the Review Programme are not subject to these guidelines. Want to know more about this guidance? You can watch a dedicated webinar on European Chemicals Agency website: Events - ECHA (europa.eu) #Biocides #BeeSafety #RegulatoryUpdates #IndustryInsights
