According to the @EU_Commission, #bioeconomy means using renewable biological resources to produce food, materials and energy... And a #circular forest-based economy does just that! 🔁🌳 A forest-based bioeconomy implies better resource management which entails minimizing waste and maximising efficiency along the whole value chain. #DYK that trees are a source of more than 5000 products we use every day, including bio-composites, bio-plastics and bio-fuels?📦🍃 https://lnkd.in/eXWj_mY #Greensource in partnership with Pro Carton - The association of carton and cartonboard manufacturers and EPIS Anna Maija Wessman Tony Hitchin Claire Couet Ana Díaz Cordero

Maintaining physical mail options ensures that people without digital access or skills can still participate in banking and payment systems.  While digitalisation offers many benefits, keeping traditional methods like physical mail ensures that everyone can access such an essential service. #RightToChoose campaign guarantees inclusiveness and access to crucial services for everyone.

🌱 Shaping the Future of Non-Wood Fibres in the Paper Industry 🌍    Yesterday, at the Non-Wood Fibres in the European Pulp and Paper Industry Workshop organized by Cepi, we explored the exciting opportunities of non-wood fibres and their growing role in sustainable papermaking. A heartfelt thanks to ICP - Pulp and Paper Institute, Ljubljana, especially David Ravnjak and Mija Sezun, for their incredible hospitality and for hosting this inspiring event.    🔍 Key Takeaways: Innovative Raw Materials: Textile recycling, wheat straw, miscanthus, bagasse, and even leather fibres offer potential to complement wood fibres and recycled materials in diverse paper applications.  Sustainability First: Evolving certification schemes, robust LCA methodologies, and clearer communication of sustainability benefits are essential to drive adoption and build trust among stakeholders.  Challenges and Solutions: From tackling contaminants to ensuring functionality and cost-effectiveness, non-wood fibres require a thoughtful, collaborative approach to unlock their full potential.    📖 A major highlight was the introduction of the Non-Wood Fibre Database, developed for Cepi by ICP Ljubljana. This invaluable tool will help the industry select the best fibres for specific applications, with a focus on functionality, availability, and sustainability.    💡 Looking Ahead Non-wood fibres are not just an alternative—they are a key component in building a resilient, circular paper industry. Together, we must innovate, collaborate, and advocate for policies that support this sustainable transition. Cepi will continue to facilitate the dialogue and knowledge gathering around non-wood fibres as they contribute to broadening the raw material base of the bioeconomy.   👏 A big thank you to ICP - Pulp and Paper Institute, Ljubljana and all participants who contributed their knowledge and insights. Let’s continue working together to shape a circular future for fibre-based products!   #Sustainability #NonWoodFibres #PaperIndustry #Innovation #Collaboration #CircularEconomy

Read our third panelist, Jori Ringman's, take on building a positive cycle of economic growth and social progress. "While the Draghi report raised the alarm in Brussels, we have the opportunity to create an upward spiral—one where investments in technology, products, and solutions fuel social progress and drive a social transition. By fostering quality jobs, we strengthen our industries, making them more resilient and innovative, which, in turn, reinforces the job market. This cycle of growth and opportunity is how we ensure Europe’s competitiveness for the future.”
