🔴Worst job losses in the automotive supply industry since the pandemic:    CLEPA research and analysis projects that roughly 86,000 jobs have been lost in the sector since 2020. It was a great meeting last week for the 20th session of the UN TF-FADS (Task Force on regulatory Fitness for Automated Driving Systems) hosted by CATARC Certification in Shanghai. The TF made some good progress on the screening of the UN regulations No. 13 and 79 to make them fit to approve ADS vehicles. A special focus was given to the warnings and to the maintenance and PTI provisions. In the same week, the 10th session of the TF-AVC (Task Force on Automated Vehicle Categorization) took also place there. The group continued to work on the amendments of R.E.3 and S.R.1 to introduce new ADS vehicle categories. Next to work done in the IWG ADS (Informal Working Group on Automated Driving Systems) to develop an ADS regulation, the tasks undertaken by FADS and AVC are essential to have a complete type-approval scheme for ADS vehicles ready by 2026. A big shout out to Jiajie Wu and CATARC Certification for the good organization.
