Breaking news — modular style 📰👌🏼 The technologies are evolving, and so does the #broadcasting world. The modular approach to news, powered by #AI assistants, is what’s been cooking in the news production industry. AI is not here to replace people. It is here to assist journalists and broadcasters in delivering personalized and impactful stories. Imagine stories broken into adaptable modules 🧱 (bite-sized videos, snappy text, dynamic graphics) where YOU decide how to assemble them to suit every platform, audience, and even device. 📱 Meanwhile, AI technologies have already proven 2 things: 1️⃣ They’re not going anywhere, and 2️⃣ They’re going to be a game-changer for broadcasting. The potential benefits of AI assistants in the gallery far outweigh the challenges. 🤖 How does AI fit into the #ModularJournalism approach? Simple💡. AI solutions will help journalists craft and adapt the stories, manage and automate repetitive tasks, and provide useful audience analytics. Check out how we adapt our tool to the new technologies https://cuez.app/storiez/ And some food for thought 💭 https://lnkd.in/d3nP3iQ9

Huge congratulations to Ben Killackey for winning the Young Talent of the Year (Live Production) at the Broadcast Tech Awards 🏆✨ Ben is one of the Solent University students who orchestrated a successful live stream of Team Solent Kestrels Basketball club 🏀. Using #Cuez, that is 😉 We’re thrilled to have collaborated with Ben for an exclusive interview. Check it out here https://lnkd.in/eTPtbVYx and read the full article here https://lnkd.in/dmPiF-5P Talents like these are the future of #broadcasting industry! Here’s to your future success, Ben — we know this is just the beginning 💪🏼
Still totally speechless, and thats just from being shortlisted!! Feels really special to have been named Young Talent of the Year (Live Production) at the Broadcast Tech Awards last night. A huge congratulations to all the nominees Tia Shenton, Sean Jones, Chrissy Agius, Lara M. & Taz Addison, you guys are all so awesome keep smashing everything!! Over the past 2 years I was lucky enough to lead Sonar Events, Solent University’s student-ran production company, where we produced content, live broadcasts and hosted live events both within the university and for clients in the local community, with our coverage of Team Solent Kestrels Basketball club being our flagship production. These were purely passion projects for all of us, with every job and every game we wanted to push ourselves more and more and I’ll never be able to fully express my gratitude to all my peers who were all so motivated to push everything as far as possible. Every single person who was involved in Sonar built such a fantastic community within the university which I feel so lucky to have been a part of! I was just doing what I loved and to be able to share that with others was really special. Through SonarEvents I loved sharing what I learnt with others and helping people to push themselves out of their comfort zone - I’m sure there are a few people on here who wanted a few words with me after attending one of my afternoon EVS crash courses to then find out they’d be operating and building closers less than 24 hours later for one of our basketball broadcasts!! (And then going on to smash it!) But I’m proud as a team we never let anyone sink and were all so supportive of each other. My love for sharing my passion extends out to being involved with the Rise Academy, a super deserving winner of the Industry Skills Initiative award last night, I would’ve been living my absolute dream if one of those workshops came around to my school when I was younger, and seeing so many people loving what we do is the most rewarding experience. I really must thank every single person at Solent University, both staff and peers who for some reason went along with lots of our crazy ideas as we pushed for more and more, everyone there is so so talented and it makes me so happy to see everyone doing so well! I’m so lucky to have had lots of industry support over my time at Solent too, and for that I am so grateful - and to my mentors a huge thank you for helping both myself and Sonar navigate this industry, it’s a huge goal of mine now to pass that back on as I continue to grow having started my career at Sky! So many people have helped me achieve this award and I really don’t think it should be individual, I sound like a broken record but I really am so grateful!

Congratulations to the winners of the Broadcast Tech Innovation Awards! Now more than ever we are committed to pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in #BroadcastProduction with the help of #AI and voice-controlled galleries. This is just the beginning → onward and upward! 😉🙌🏼 #BroadcastTechAwards #Cuez #Innovation

What is #ModularJournalism? To us, it’s the future of news production ✨ . Modular Journalism offers new ways for #storytelling 📝. It breaks one story into self-contained modules (text, visuals, audio, etc.) that can be mixed and matched according to the audiences’ needs and the channel on which the news story is shared. Just like LEGO blocks 🏗️ that build on top of each other to make a full story, journalists can rearrange those blocks depending on the distribution platform and bypass the long and inefficient forms of content submission. Modularity of the news story plays a central role in this approach. As part of the EPIC project, #Cuez supports the new-gen #newsrooms with story-based news production across different media, channels, and devices. Heading home from a tremendously interesting DPP Leaders' Briefing we would like to leave you with a few thoughts for the weekend. Conversation starters for your next networking event if you will. #Cuez that will point you to the future so to speak (see what we did there). Power it up with #cloud and #AI. Use it to improve customer experience, gain efficiency, grow your business and innovate content management. Tech is there to support audiences and content producers. AI increases need for HI, human intelligence: judgement, inference, nuance, collaboration, story telling, creativity, … Focus on what makes us who we are and AI can help us do that. Our personal favourite. It’s the audience, stupid. Meet them where they are and move fluidly between platforms. Learn, adapt, overcome. Continually. Build a phoenix organisation by reinventing yourself again and again. Do what you’re good at in fresh new ways. De-silo. Collaborate. Internally and externally. Work with agile and involved suppliers who really understand use cases. Turn data into insights as opportunity for content creators. Some quite interesting stats: TikTok users spend more time on streaming services than non-TikTokkers (colloquially known as boomers): 42% look up show times, 63% watched a trailer. Nostalgia sells. TV and series is becoming more like music consumption. Age is just a number, people. The most streamed show on Tubi in Canada is Gilligan’s Island (1964! 💪). 35% of YouTube watch time is on TV. YouTube will debut a new feature group content into series. Want to know more? So you can really stun your colleagues when they ask “What exactly do you mean, a phoenix organisation?”. Stay tuned, or contact us for an insightful talk with an agile and involved supplier: https://cuez.app/contact/

As Day 2 of the DPP #LeadersBriefing is underway, we look back at Day 1. Good stuff all around, but these 4 things stuck with us👇 : 1. ⛓ Rethink the content supply chain. The challenge is to move away from fragmented systems and create end-to-end processes and insights across the value chain. It offers the opportunity to use metadata and focus on creative enablement. 2. 👩💻 Content is made by humans. A new content supply chain can only work when silos are broken down and teams are multidisciplinary, cross-functional and adopting agile workflows. So they can tell stories no matter where they are published. 3. 🔑 Change management is key to the success of this digital transformation. Technology for the sake of technology is not sustainable. You want to foster the adoption of new technologies. So people can do what they are good at but in new and fresh ways. To not only reach but also delight audiences. 4. 🤖 #AI. No getting around it. Gen AI is the shiny poster child of this evolution. But it's also important to look at how AI can make the grunt work more efficient, through automation and data analysis, enabling users to create killer, creative content. Helping broadcasters do what they are good at in new and fresh ways, to delight audiences. That could be the tagline for #Cuez. Yes, this is the product placement part of the post. But it's still true. And if you read this far, why not see how we envision #ModularJournalism? Check out the newsroom of the future: https://cuez.app/storiez
