Our joint project with Tata Group has earned us a spot as a finalist in the Recycled Plastic Product category at Plastics Recycling Show India in Mumbai. We are proud to have replaced a virgin PA66 compound with a sustainable alternative for the fan & shroud application in vehicles. The TECHNYL® 4EARTH® 100% recycled PA6 based solution, made from recycled fishing nets and textile yarns, has proven to be a game-changer.

There is absolutely a future for the chemical industry in Europe - if it's innovative and sustainable. I had the pleasure of sharing my vision for a strong, competitive European chemical sector in an interview with Flows Magazine and Koen Dejaeger. We discussed the need for a strong European industrial policy and the important role polyamide can play in creating a sustainable future. Here are some of the key takeaways from the interview: I'm convinced that the chemical sector has a future in Europe if the principles of the Antwerp Declaration, led by Cefic, are included in the agenda of the new European Commission. The COVID-19 pandemic, in particular the joint procurement of vaccines, showed what Europe can achieve when it acts together. We need the same level of unity here. Europe must actively support companies on their path to innovation and decarbonisation. Investment in existing infrastructure, such as pipelines and transport networks, is essential and should be expanded where needed. Looking ahead, Europe must prepare for next-generation infrastructure, such as a European hydrogen network. There is an urgent need for skilled talent so that we can not only innovate in Europe, but also turn that innovation into production and added value. Innovation shouldn't be an end in itself; it must lead to jobs and economic growth. Let me close with an example of innovation and partnership: By using polyamide instead of metal, we can significantly reduce the weight of e-trucks and electric vehicles. For example, in partnership with Brano, DOMO Chemicals has developed a polyamide truck brake pedal that is 27% lighter while the total part cost reduction is approximately 60%.
