We shot our WD 01 at Le Marais 407, a co-working space that combines versatile spaces with stylish design. Our circular wood collection, WD 01, creates a striking contrast with the clean, straight lines of the interior designed by the BimBamBoum architects. Le Marais 407 is more than just a workspace—it’s a dynamic ecosystem located near the Brussels swamp. Spanning 400 m², it features open areas, private rooms, studios, meeting rooms, a fully equipped kitchen, and a courtyard, designed to meet a variety of needs. Throwback to our last trip to Milan – we had the chance to showcase our first two circular collections, WD 01 and ST 01, at both Baranzate and Bold Dualities. At Duplex, we transitioned from being a service design studio called Duplex Studio to a sustainable furniture brand called Duplex (we didn’t think too far). Since early 2024, this transformation has been powered by incredible partnerships and a shared commitment to sustainability. It began with blue stone from Carrières de Maffle and semi-solid oak floor offcuts from Arbony, which inspired our first collections, ST 01 and WD 01. These partners helped us find creative ways to repurpose materials, setting the stage for our circular journey. As our vision expanded, we connected with: New Laser SA, offering deadstock stainless steel tubes for versatile (interior/exterior) applications. RotorDC and MCA Recycling, who introduced us to Trespa panels, now repurposed through their Trespa Second Life Program. Acacia Stakes, providing waste and unused acacia beams and timbers from their wood factory in Romania. Thanks to these five incredible partners, we now have access to a steady supply of high-quality, sustainable materials that power our collections. These collaborations allow us to create versatile designs for both interiors and exteriors, all while championing the circular economy. We’re excited to continue growing and exploring new opportunities for collaboration in the future. Small batch of red and pure WD-01 circular chairs and benches was produced this week. Thanks to the internalization and full control of our processes: sourcing, production, and delivery, we ensure efficiency and deliver high-quality pieces within a short timeframe, responding effectively to on-demand projects. When Juliette asked for a minimalist yet warm design for Alphonse, we knew our WD 01 circular collection would be the perfect fit. Using Arbony upcycled wooden floor offcuts, we crafted 8 bistro tables, 11 stools, and 4 benches in less than three weeks. Finished with a natural stain and paired with galvanized metal structures, these pieces bring a sustainable and inviting touch to the café.
