Acknowledging Ibrahim Khalil’s Contributions to Team Dusselier! The Dusselier Team proudly acknowledges the remarkable contributions of Dr. Ibrahim Khalil, whose professionalism, charismatic guidance and scientific skills have left an indelible mark on our group. As one of the first postdoctoral researchers in the Dusselier Lab, Ibrahim set a strong foundation for both excellence, especially in #spectroscopy and #collaboration. Now, he begins a new chapter as a permanent researcher at CNRS in Lyon, a role that reflects his dedication and expertise. Ibrahim’s tenure with the group was distinguished by his commitment to quality and his significant contributions have become an integral part of our history, with Nature Magazine #Catalysis paper as a cherry on the cake. As an alumni, he will always be part of the Dusselier community, and we look forward to exploring future international collaborations. Additionally, for the CSCE basketball team, the court remains open for Ibrahim. His strategic mindset and sense of fun brought great energy to every game. He was even able to dunk in the end 😉. We wish Ibrahim continued success in his career and are confident that he will achieve remarkable milestones in the years to come.

Another publication from our team is now available online! #Zeolites are already fascinating #materials, but we’re taking it a step further. By incorporating #heteroatoms like #zinc, we aim to spice up the potential of these structures. In our latest contribution, we tackle the challenging task of resolving zinc positioning within zeolite #frameworks (spoiler: easier said than done!). 🚨 Publication Alert! 🚨   “𝑻𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒌 𝒐𝒖𝒕𝒔𝒊𝒅𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒂𝒕𝒄𝒉!” We are excited to share that our latest research article has been published in 𝘙𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘊𝘩𝘦𝘮𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘺 & 𝘌𝘯𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨! This work presents a novel approach for 𝐳𝐞𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐬𝐲𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐬 𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐞𝐝-𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬, enabling 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐩𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 the synthesis in one-pot experiments. 📊 Key Highlights of the Research: 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧: Most conventional zeolite synthesis takes place in closed-batch autoclaves, which cannot be monitored or controlled during the process. A fed-batch reactor system allows intermediate sampling and ingredient addition without disrupting the synthesis process. 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐞-𝐌𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐙𝐞𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Created a detailed synthesis timeline through continuous monitoring of temperature, pressure, and pH, revealing critical transformation stages from amorphous to crystalline phases. 𝐄𝐧𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐥: Showcased the ability to modify synthesis mid-process, such as adding metals like tin and zinc to tailor material properties. 🤝 A huge congratulations to Amir Javdani for his hard work and to the co-authors, Gleb Ivanushkin, Aron Deneyer, and Michiel Dusselier, for their valuable contributions and insights. Three new members have joined our team during the last months! Run Zou completed his PhD at The University of Manchester, focusing on engineering #zeolite pores and defects for catalytic and #adsorption applications. Now, as a postdoctoral researcher in our lab, he is exploring #CO2-assisted propane #dehydrogenation. Yifeng Liu recently earned her PhD from Zhejiang University, where she developed Metal@Zeolite catalysts for various applications, including methane oxidation and hydroformylation. She is now diving into postdoctoral research on zeolite #catalysis in our group. Nandkishor Urkude joined us after completing his master’s at the Institute of Science Tokyo (Science Tokyo), where he worked on Ni-Zeolite catalysts for #hydrogen production. In our lab, he will focus on zeolite #synthesis for CO2 capture and utilization. #Welcome, Run, Yifeng, and Nandkishor! We’re delighted to have you on board and look forward to the exciting research ahead!
