Yes, another post about this year's DZA day celebration! This event would not have been possible without our generous sponsors. Gold Tier Sponsorship by Shell Catalysts & Technologies and Zeolyst International; Silver Tier Sponsorship by Delft Solids Solutions B.V., Ketjen Corporation, C.G.B.-C.B.B., Chemistry Europe, La Société Royale de Chimie, and KVCV. Thank you for your invaluable support! Moreover, we would like to take a moment to acknowledge Delft Solids Solutions B.V., for providing the awards given to the best oral and poster contributions! Congratulations to the winners: Jennifer Pham Van (Vrije Universiteit Brussel) - best oral presentation; Gleb Ivanushkin (KU Leuven) - best poster presentation. A big round of applause to them!

Our research focuses on zeolite synthesis, heterogeneous catalysis for sustainable solutions, and bioplastics.
About us
The Dusselier laboratory is a part of the Center for Sustainable Catalysis and Engineering (CSCE) at KU Leuven. Our research focus is put on: 1) Zeolite synthesis 2) Heterogeneous catalysis for alternative feedstock 3) Bioplastics 4) FT-IR Spectroscopy The general aim is to invent new or improved microporous materials for renewable or sustainable alternative processes, or the processes themselves, to produce fuels, chemicals, and plastics.

A quick reminder! Today is the deadline for the abstract submission for the #DZA #symposium. If you are planning to join us, don't miss the chance. https://lnkd.in/eSmpJEx8 Looking forward to seeing you on the 4th of November.
6 years after the last edition, we heartily invite you on 𝟰𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝗡𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰 in Leuven (BE) to join the one-day symposium organized by the 𝗗𝘂𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝗭𝗲𝗼𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗗𝗭𝗔). Are you a #PhD or a #PostDoc in the field of zeolites? Submit your abstract via the link below for a poster or an oral presentation, 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟯𝟬𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰 about any topic related to #zeolites #synthesis and their applications. We have a very exciting plenary speaker from Stockholm University: Prof. Xiaodong. Zou will talk about her work in method development for accurate atomic structure determination of among others, zeolites. More information on the website: https://lnkd.in/eSmpJEx8

We’re excited to welcome Giovanni Pampararo to the Dusselier Lab! Giovanni brings a wealth of experience in #catalysis, with a #PhD from the University of Genoa and postdoctoral research at Universit catholique de Louvain. His past work has focused on #copper-based and #mesoporous catalysts for ethanol upgrading and #sustainable #biofuels. Now, with an Research Foundation Flanders - FWO postdoctoral grant, Giovanni will explore #ethylene #oligomerization and #aromatization reactions under #supercritical conditions. #Welcome to the #team, Giovanni!

📰 #Publication Alert! Wonder how to manipulate the acidity of #zeolites easily? A tip from Julien Devos: 𝗗𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗽! Low-temperature activation with #ozone offers many options to tweak #acidity. Proven for multivalent cation #adsorption and #catalysis. 🤝Our latest #JACS is a joint effort between the Dusselier Lab (KU Leuven) and the Jeroen A. van Bokhoven group (PSI Paul Scherrer Institut). Warm congratulations to our colleagues Sven Robijns, Ibrahim Khalil and collaborators from #Switzerland. Many many thanks to Research Foundation Flanders - FWO for funding this research. Interested? Dusselier group publication alert! Great job, Foteini Lappa !
If someone would ask me 5 years ago what I know about CO2 Conversion to fuels, I wouldn't have much to say.. Don't be like me 5 years ago 😝 Good news! You can now read my first review paper and find out the current work in the field, as well as, the research gaps needing further study! Many thanks to the people who contributed with their knowledge in this work Ibrahim Khalil Alejandro Morales and of course my supervisors Michiel Dusselier and Gregoire LEONARD for their insightful input throughout the whole process BE-HyFE KU Leuven Dusselier Lab University of Liège https://lnkd.in/d9kAYren
