ECS Wins the Baanbrekers Award for Logistics Service Providers! Yesterday evening, ECS proudly received the prestigious Baanbrekers Award in the category of Logistics Service Provider at the annual event organised by Multimodaal.Vlaanderen in Technopolis. The submitted project highlighted our recently launched train connections between Flanders and South Germany, as well as Flanders and Czechia. ECS secured the award by showcasing the impact of these two intermodal corridors: 👉 shifting 21.400 trucks per year from road to rail, 👉 significantly reducing CO2 emissions 👉 and alleviating traffic jams! We aim to further expand these two train connections with additional weekly round trips and are actively seeking container loads to South Germany and Czechia. Last year, ECS inaugurated an eco-friendly rail route between Zeebrugge and Lovosice, Czech Republic, significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions and improving supply chain efficiency. The new route was introduced with and for Drylock Technologies, and since then, a second weekly train has already been added to the route. We are proud to share that Drylock Technologies has won the Supply Chain Initiative of the Year at The Grocer Gold Awards for their innovative train route. This project, fully set up by ECS, demonstrates our commitment to sustainable logistics solutions. The rail route not only reduces emissions by 75% compared to traditional trucking but also boosts palletisation efficiency by 10%. Congratulations to Drylock Technologies on this achievement! At ECS, sustainability is not just a buzzword; it's at the core of everything we do. Here's how we're making a difference:   1. Road-to-Rail modal shift: moving towards greener logistics with road-to-rail transitions, reducing carbon footprints and boosting efficiency.. 2. Innovative fuel solutions: collaborating with hauliers committed to sustainable transport practices ensures eco-friendly solutions throughout our supply chain.   We're proud to partner with SPIZ TRASPORTI S.R.L. in Italy, who will transition all ECS transports to 100% HVO fuel starting July 2024, employing 35 trucks daily. HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil) is a renewable diesel alternative made from vegetable oils or animal fats. It significantly reduces greenhouse gas emissions compared to conventional diesel, contributing to cleaner air and a healthier environment.   Additionally, one of our UK transporters is using GTL (Gas-to-Liquid) fuel for 30 of its trucks.
