When we promise our Young Professional Network 🌟 they’ll go places, we mean it. Last Thursday, our #YPN crew headed to Paris 🗼 to meet up with their counterparts from Lab Crigen and ENGIE. Another high energy day! First stop, being welcomed by the YPN team in Crigen 🫶, included a visit to its impressive testing hall. Onwards and upwards to a well, YPN, organised afternoon of inspiring, exchanging and learning conferences at ENGIE headquarters, ending with a valuable interaction with CEO Catherine Fiamma MacGregor. ENGIE Research & Innovation has every right to be proud 👏 of its special community of expertise the #ExpANDers, which had its second annual high-level exchange session on their latest tech and R&I info this week…   Bringing together colleagues, recognised for their expertise inside and outside the ENGIE Group, the aim of these ExpANDer sessions is to share knowledge and understanding of how they can, combining their specific areas of expertise, further accelerate the #energytransition towards #netzerocarbon by ENGIE and other customers.   All that topped by key presentations. By who?   ➡️ The evolution of European Funded Research (in the Energy Sector) over the past years by Matthijs Soede Senior Policy Officer - European Commission.   ➡️ ENGIE’s Decarbonisation Pathway for Europe by Nicolas Lefevre-Marton ENGIE Group Strategy Vice-President.   Put all of that together, and no wonder the day got everyone feeling super-charged! Super happy, call it buoyant, to join key partners in the SWiM project (Solar and Wind in the Belgian Marine Zone 🌊), funded by the Belgian Energy Transition Fund, combining two areas of our strong expertise ... 👉 The idea? To conduct research and provide advice into the integration of Offshore Floating Photovoltaics (OFPV) into offshore wind farms in a productive, feasible and ecologically sustainable way. 👉 This carried out in Belgium’s Exclusive Economic North Sea Zone, an area we know well, is a far-reaching opportunity. Less to make “new” energy waves, but more to see a combination of known clean energy sources work together and as said by Johan Driesen, Professor of Electrical Engineering at KU Leuven helping “𝘱𝘶𝘵 𝘉𝘦𝘭𝘨𝘪𝘶𝘮 𝘧𝘪𝘳𝘮𝘭𝘺 𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘢𝘱 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘪𝘵 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘪𝘯𝘯𝘰𝘷𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘸𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘨𝘺 𝘨𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯”. 👉 Fully behind it as part of ENGIE Research & Innovation, with EnergyVille, De Blauwe Cluster (Blue Cluster) vzw, Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences, imec, Hasselt University and KU Leuven.
