  • Consumers with lower socioeconomic status (SES) face unique challenges when it comes to adopting healthy and sustainable #EatingHabits. Barriers such as limited affordability, accessibility, and reduced exposure to, engagement with, and trust in health information often stand in the way.   That’s why, in collaboration with Fondazione Diocesana Caritas Trieste Onlus, we conducted a study to better understand the barriers and communication preferences of people with low SES. Insights from focus groups and surveys shaped the development of an evidence-based toolkit with tailored communication recommendations.   ✨ What’s inside? ✨ ✔ Research-backed recommendations to help communicators empower these communities to make healthier and more sustainable choices ✔ Recommendations for structural changes needed to reduce barriers to effective communication   ✨ Who is it for? ✨ This toolkit is designed for science communicators, researchers, health professionals, journalists, NGOs, and policymakers working with communities with low SES.   👉 For more information, visit: https://lnkd.in/e2jPtXe9

  • Calling all public health enthusiasts! 📢 Help us inspire healthier eating by sharing the #SwitchToWholeGrains challenge with your network. 🌾𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐰𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬?🌾 #WholeGrains are a cornerstone of a healthy diet, offering significant benefits such as reducing the risk of heart disease, improving digestion, and supporting overall well-being. Despite these advantages, many people still don't include enough whole grains in their diets. 🚧𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐫𝐬? 🚧 The reasons vary from lack of knowledge on how to cook whole grains, difficulties identifying them in the supermarket, to misconceptions about their taste or benefits. EUFIC is launching the #SwitchToWholeGrains challenge to tackle these barriers starting in November. This initiative provides practical, engaging ways to help people overcome these challenges, from chef-created whole grain recipes (developed by the LIFE Climate Smart Chefs EU-funded project) to tips that simplify meal prep and shopping for whole grains. 🤝𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩?🤝 By sharing this initiative within your networks, you can help amplify the message and make a real impact on people's diets. We'd also love to have you personally join the challenge if you're interested!
