One year after the launch of the #AntwerpDeclaration, 400 business leaders, industry and worker representatives from across Europe met in Antwerp to discuss the just-published #CleanIndustrialDeal with Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. The message is clear: #DelivertheDeal To restore Europe’s prosperity, we need urgent action to: ✅ Restore the business case for investments in Europe ✅ Implement the EU Green Deal ✅ Safeguard high-quality jobs New EU policies must be assessed against a simple test: 🔷 Do they attract investment to Europe? 🔷Do they keep Europe safe & independent? 🔷Do they lower energy costs? 🔷Do they create markets for sustainable products? 🔷Do they secure quality jobs? European Industrial Gases Association (EIGA)'s President Adolf Walth underlined during the event the role of #IndustrialGases in the decarbonisation efforts AND in the competitiveness of the European industry. 🚀 Europe’s industries are ready to do their part—now it’s time for EU leaders to act.

📍 On 26 February, alongside 400 business leaders from across Europe, Cefic gathered in Antwerp to discuss the just-published Clean Industrial Deal with Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. https://lnkd.in/e7PFHF46 Now, it’s time to #DelivertheDeal. EU Heads of State must take urgent action across all EU Member States without delay. The chemical sector plays a crucial role in Europe’s transformation—but declining demand, stalled investments, and high energy costs are putting this future at risk. To restore industrial competitiveness and secure Europe’s future, we need bold decisions to: ✅ Restore the business case for investments ✅ Implement the EU Green Deal ✅ Safeguard high-quality jobs Before any new EU policy is introduced, it must answer these key questions: 🔹 Does it attract investment to Europe? 🔹 Does it keep Europe safe & independent? 🔹 Does it lower energy costs? 🔹 Does it create markets for sustainable chemical products? 🔹 Does it secure quality jobs in the chemical sector? If the answer is no, it’s time to rethink. Europe’s chemical industry is ready to lead—but we need the right framework to compete and grow. The time for strategies and discussions is over—now is the time to act. Ilham Kadri Marco Mensink European Commission Bart De Wever Stéphane Séjourné Wopke Hoekstra Matthias Diependaele Teresa Ribera

"Oxygen is a life-saving essential medicine with no substitution" says the World Health Organization. About 5 years ago, the world was shocked with a pandemic that made everybody realise how crucial #oxygen is to save lives. 👨⚕️🩺👩⚕️ Did you know that #oxygen has other applications than medical ones? The use of technical #oxygen in combustion is widespread in many industrial processes - in steelmaking and chemical manufacturing for instance. 🔥#Oxygen handling bears hazards. This is why European Industrial Gases Association (EIGA) produced an eLearning focusing on oxygen safety. 💵 It is free, it is available in 13 languages, and we even grants permission to reproduce this publication provided European Industrial Gases Association (EIGA) is acknowledged as the source. ➡️ https://lnkd.in/e_4937NC

11 February has been the International Day of Women and Girls in Science for 10 years 🎂 Why does it matter? Because humanity cannot achieve sustainable progress without half of its potential. 👨🎓 👩🎓 Why does it matter to European Industrial Gases Association (EIGA)? Because we encourage all talented and skilled people to work in industrial, food and medical gases, and because we are proud of the female experts who work in our sector. 👏

European Industrial Gases Association (EIGA), together with 16 other signatories from the #hydrogen value chain, calls for a reality check of the European Hydrogen policy. To achieve the 2030 hydrogen production and consumption targets, we need to: ➡️ Adopt more pragmatic and technology neutral approach to enable cost-competitive hydrogen production. ➡️Improve European incentives on the demand-side. ➡️Enable the creation of markets for products produced from and with RFNBOs and low-carbon fuels.
