Procedural decisions made today massively impact what treatment options are available to a physician treating the same patient at some point in the future, should a subsequent procedure be necessary. This concept, often referred to as lifetime management of the patient, is a key component to the benefits experienced when using FEops's HEARTguide™ product, a Cloud based, AI powered Structural Heart Procedure Planning Platform, HEARTguide™. Many structural heart implant patients are so young that they almost certainly will need a second (replacement) implant at some point in the future. This introduces a number of additional variables and considerations the physician must consider before performing the patients first procedure. -> How will that first implant will degrade in the body? -> What will it's footprint be in 10-15 years? -> Which devices might deploy successful inside that initial device during a second procedure? -> What unique challenges may arise as a result of the selecting a certain initial device, and deploying it in a given location? As Matthieu De Beule discusses in the attached clip, the FEops system can be wildly informative for the physician when developing this lifetime treatment plan for a specific patient. Creating a "digital twin" model of the patients heart, and modeling out any number of different scenarios allows the physician to "measure twice and cut once", as the old saying goes. This is vital in these types of procedures, where a 1MM variance can be the difference between procedural success, and the patient experiencing Heart Failure, stroke, etc as a result of improper fit, placement, function. This was just one of the many value propositions discussed during episode 41 of of The Bleeding Edge of Digital Health Podcast, with Matthieu De Beule which is now up live for viewing on all major podcast directories, and our YouTube channel (links in comments). Thanks again Matthieu for joining me as a guest, and sharing this game changing technology with my audience!
