I'm thrilled to announce that our MEDLI project in collaboration with Flanders Make has been approved and will officially launch on March 1st! Thanks to VLAIO and Vlaams AI Onderzoeksprogramma / Flanders AI Research Program for their support in making this possible! AI is evolving in two directions: 🔹 Bigger, more powerful deep learning AI models that require immense computing power 🔹 AI moving to edge devices like smart sensors, cameras, and IoT gadgets, enabling real-time processing closer to the source Combining these trends is a major challenge—edge devices lack the computing power needed for today’s advanced AI models. While researchers have developed smart techniques to make large AI models run efficiently on edge devices, companies still face key obstacles, such as: ✅ Choosing the right compression methods to make pre-trained large AI models ready for the edge ✅ Integrating AI with existing edge computing tools ✅ Selecting the most suitable edge hardware ✅ Managing remote deployment and maintenance 💡 How MEDLI Helps Our project is here to break down these barriers for Flemish industries!
