About us
We have genetically modified the Black Soldier Fly (Hermetia illucens, aka BSF) to express human insulin. We will produce insulin (and other recombinant proteins and growth factors) economically at scale, to drastically cut the cost of growth medium for cultivated meat. We also offer "Genetical Modification as a Service" to the global BSF industry.

We vonden het een hele eer om het Strategisch Platform Insecten te mogen verwelkomen bij Flyblast, en deel te nemen aan de discussies over het heden en de toekomst van de sector!
ONDERZOEK - Strategisch Platform Insecten 2 weken geleden had onze onderzoeksgroep het genoegen om aanwezig te zijn bij de meeting van het Strategisch Platform Insecten, georganiseerd door FlyBlast op de site van BlueChem. Een bijzondere dank aan Johan Jacobs voor zijn gastvrijheid en de inspirerende rondleiding door hun indrukwekkende faciliteiten! 📅 Op de agenda stond een boeiende brainstormsessie over het versterken van de wisselwerking tussen onderzoek en de insectensector. We bespraken cruciale vragen zoals: - Hoe kunnen we onderzoeksprioriteiten zoals bio-economie en de zwarte soldatenvlieg beter afstemmen op de behoeften van de sector? - Hoe benutten we onderzoeksresultaten lokaal en regionaal om de sector te versterken? - Welke stappen kunnen we nemen om de betrokkenheid van insectenkwekers te vergroten?
