eInvoice Ecosystem development in the world at OpusCapita

Greetings from the Exchange Summit 2024 in Prague It is great to see a mix of familiar faces and a surprisingly high number of new attendees coming together to dive into the latest in e-invoicing. This year’s main topic is Tax Compliance and the VAT in the Digital Age (VIDA) which has sparked some really interesting discussions.  Some highlights from today and yesterday:   Eduardo Jiménez from the OECD's, shared concerns about the growing complexity and rising compliance costs for the businesses involved in cross-border activities. He emphasized also the need for better interoperability and pointing to Peppol framework being a potential game-changer for enhancing e-invoicing and digital reporting regimes. The launch Peppol VIDA pilot was an excellent addition to that.   VIDA story was continued by Agustín Míguez Pérez from the European Commission. One of the most significant takeaways was that Member States currently with a domestic digital real-time transaction-based reporting system can maintain these systems until January 2035. That gives countries like Poland a last-minute chance to rethink its strategy.  Marcus Laube, CEO of billentis predicted e-invoices are set to double within the next five years driven by various factors. He also stressed the importance of harmonizing the processes like also many others in here. Overall each session, each conversation adds much to the even and I can’t wait to share more highlights as the summit continues. #EXCS24 #EInvoicing #DigitalReporting #TaxCompliance #VIDA #OpusCapita
