Indeed, Women’s Health is under-funded, under-researched and under-resourced. At the Women’s Health R&D discussions hosted by the Virchow Foundation. Honoured to join distinguished speakers and leaders from Deutscher Bundestag, Virchow Foundation, Global Health EDCTP3, Global Health Institute of Merck Group, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (Berlin Office), United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) WomenX Collective at the Berlin Institute of Health, Federation of German Industries, GHA - German Health Alliance and DLR Global Health. Thank you Michael Makanga and Jutta Reinhard-Rupp for excellent presentations and exploring Women’s Health R&D priorities from different prism. On behalf of the Medical Women's International Association (MWIA) reiterated the significance of Women-Centered Health Research and Innovations, including novelties for preventing, detecting and treatment of the leading causes of diseases, deaths and disability in Women. The Innovations Equity Forum and its 50 High-impact Opportunity Map for Women’s Health R&D is increasingly recognized as a lead reference document for our concerted action, and MWIA is a proud partner of this initiative. On behalf of the Global Sepsis Alliance called for the urgency of action against Sepsis, that every year affects 26 million women (vs. 22 million men), including 5.7 million pregnant women. Women and the poor are affected the most by Sepsis both in low-and-middle income and high-resourced countries. Finally, #Sepsis should be central to #AMR discussions since the 4.95 million Sepsis-related deaths are part of 13.66 million Sepsis-related death-toll every year.
