🌍 GSOA was honoured to take part in the “Connecting from the Skies” conference in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia this week. We delivered a keynote on the integration of NTNs in future connectivity and the global #NTN vision for #WRC27. The industry's future lies in a converged, multi-access network architecture integrating terrestrial and non-terrestrial networks (TN/NTN) to achieve universal connectivity. This requires strong cross-industry collaboration, supportive spectrum policies, and flexible, balanced regulatory frameworks. WRC-27 will be key to unlocking the full potential of TN/NTN connectivity. 🚀 🌐 GSOA also participated in a World Economic Forum Roundtable on space sustainability, where we shared our Code of Conduct on Space Sustainability (https://lnkd.in/eFVF4rse, https://lnkd.in/eBSWZYpf). We also highlighted the industry's commitment to engage with regulators on the timely development and implementation of appropriate regulations based on peer-reviewed scientific analysis, as well as collaborate with academia and the scientific community on space sustainability studies. 🌱 📡 The Communications, Space & Technology Commission (CST) hosted a meeting with GSOA and its members to discuss common priorities such as spectrum licensing, the WRC-27 Agenda, space sustainability, and NTN-TN integration. 🙏 GSOA extends its thanks to the Communications, Space & Technology Commission (CST) for the excellent organization of this important gathering of policymakers and industry leaders. #satellite4life #satellite #spectrum #licensing #spacesustainability Isabelle Mauro Natalia V. 🌍 Today, on The International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, the EQUALS - The Global Partnership for Gender Equality in the Digital Age stands together to address technology facilitated gender-based violence (TFGBV). 🔶In 22 countries, 58% of all young women and girls, between 15 and 25 years of age, have been subjected to online harassment (Goulds, 2020). 🔶85 percent of women globally who spend time online have witnessed TFGBV against other women (The Economist Intelligence Unit, 2021). 🔶Safety and security concerns are a key barrier preventing women in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) from adopting mobile internet and is the top barrier to further use (GSMA, 2024). At #EQUALS, the Access Coalition is committed to bridging the digital gender divide by promoting safe, inclusive, and empowering online environments for all women and girls. Today, let’s reaffirm our dedication to ending violence against women in all forms - both offline and online. Join us in spreading awareness and advocating for a safer digital future for women everywhere! #OrangeTheWorld #EndViolenceAgainstWomen #DigitalInclusion #EQUALS Isabelle Mauro Natalia V. 💫GSOA had the opportunity to participate in the special session ‘Follow-up to the implementation of the Roadmap for the adoption of the initiatives contained in the resolution (AG/Res. 2966) for the Expansion of ICTs in Rural or Underserved Areas: Case Colombia’ held in during the 42nd Meeting of the CITEL Inter-American Telecommunication Commission Standing Steering Committee (COM/CITEL). 🌐Digital technologies are fundamentally transforming our world and we have to ensure that technological advances are inclusive and do not turn the digital divide into a chasm. ⚖️It is crucial to develop public policies that prioritise the deployment of infrastructure best suited to the needs of the underserved areas by creating a flexible regulatory framework that is able to adapt to market changes and that encourages competition and investment in the satellite sector. 🛰️Colombia's Res 376 is a great example, as it lightens and encourages the penetration of satellite services by eliminating the need for satellite registration for operators; This relieves satellite operators of a lot of regulatory burden and costs. #satellite4life #satellite #connectivity #digital #regulatory #investment Natalia V.
