The solution for your groundwater dynamics challenges

About us

Monitoring Groundwater Dynamics iFLUX developed an innovative groundwater monitoring solution to track groundwater contamination. Our iFLUX samplers can monitor contamination plumes transported by groundwater and therefore detect +130 validated contaminant types, orientation, speed, and overall volume. (Mass flux) These insights are key for achieving a faster and more effective groundwater remediation plan. Moreover, iFLUX developed a second ground-breaking solution, the iFLUX Sensing Solution, which offers the possibility to remotely monitor groundwater flux in real-time from the comfort of your office. The iFLUX sensing network empowers drinking water utilities, large-scale dewatering operators in construction, nature organizations, the mining industry, and cities to effectively monitor and manage their groundwater activities. This ensures not only sustainable and resilient groundwater management but also makes cost-efficient decisions based on accurate, real-time groundwater data as well as preserving the environment. With over 70% of all water use originating from groundwater worldwide, iFLUX aims to help safeguard this precious resource by enabling and visualizing true groundwater dynamics monitoring. Our mission is to create this ‘Eureka’ moment in groundwater projects globally.

The amount of #PFAS #remediation projects are launching exponentially, and rightly so. This non-degradable contaminant, as well as all other contaminants, are unfortunately not sitting around until they are removed. Instead they move due to groundwater flows and spread further than you think. Effective remediation thanks to a comprehensive preliminary study: 🔎 Site Assessment: Sample and analyze PFAS contamination extent. ⚠️ Risk Evaluation: Assess health and environmental risks. 💡 Feasibility Analysis: Evaluate and select effective remediation technologies and actions Conventional methodes get you so far.. To get a full answer on the questions above, we will need to take the spread (#massflux) of every contamination, including PFAS, into account. The technology is here! Every sub-surface, weather conditions and contamination type impact the spread of the contamination differently. Get in touch with iFLUX to execute your remediation project with confidence. https://lnkd.in/eVDhcV8t #iFLUXSampler - Overtime measurements of pollution spread: https://lnkd.in/exjVe8Yc

  • 🏆 Fantastic News! As a proud partner of the Bankbusters consortium, iFLUX is thrilled to announce that the project secured second place in the Belgian Construction Awards last week, under the category Climate Future Projects. Congratulations to all the partners involved! This groundbreaking initiative leverages soft dredged material to restore eroded tidal marshes. By doing so, it enhances biodiversity, strengthens natural flood defenses, and contributes to a more sustainable and resilient environment. At iFLUX, we are proud to bring our expertise in groundwater monitoring and innovative solutions to this project. Bankbusters exemplifies how science and technology can create a meaningful impact on ecosystems and communities alike. 🌍 Learn more about the Bankbusters project: https://lnkd.in/e7Z9bBgg Bankbusters is a collaboration between iFLUX, DEME Group, Jan De Nul Group, the University of Antwerp, and Ghent University. The project is facilitated by De Blauwe Cluster (Blue Cluster) vzw (Blue Cluster) and supported by funding from VLAIO - Flanders Innovation & Entrepreneurship. #iFLUX #innovation #sustainability #blueeconomy #dredging #belgianconstructionawards

  • An estimated 17,000 contaminated sites exist in Europe, and 12.5 million Europeans are living in communities affected by PFAS-contaminated drinking water. The European Environmental Bureau highlights a crucial point: Tackling PFAS water contamination must be a priority for the European Commission Prevention is always better than cure. Phasing out harmful substances and preventing their spread in the environment is essential to safeguard our natural resources. Proper management is critical to protecting sensitive receptors, such as drinking water extraction areas, ensuring a healthy environment for everyone. 👉 The good news? iFLUX can help! At iFLUX, we provide solutions for groundwater monitoring. Our flux measurements offer valuable insights into what happens underground, showing how much pollution (mass) moves and at what speed through groundwater. 📊 These insights enable effective and targeted remediation. New European Commission, 💦Water in your hometowns is polluted by #PFAS (check the map ⤵️). We are all exposed to these harmful chemicals, no matter how or where we live. There are an estimated 17,000 contaminated sites in Europe and 12.5 million Europeans live in communities with PFAS-contaminated drinking water. Tackling PFAS water contamination should be a growing concern and a public health priority for the new European Commission. - ⚠️Water (along with food) is one of the main pathways of human exposure to PFAS pollution. - ⚠️The long known as #foreverchemicals are extremely persistent in our environment and bodies, and they can lead to health problems (such as liver damage, thyroid disease, immune dysfunction, fertility issues or cancer). Ursula von der Leyen, Teresa Ribera, Stéphane Séjourné and Jessika Roswall: 💌To facilitate a first-hand experience, we have sent you an invitation to voluntarily submit to a blood test to detect the presence and levels of PFAS in your body. Other important facts: 💸The cost to society from PFAS pollution is two orders of magnitude higher than the benefits of manufacturers. The societal cost of inaction — including remediation, water clean-up, and human health costs— will always surpass the costs of a ban on the use of PFAS. 🚫A comprehensive EU restriction on PFAS will drive innovation in safer alternatives while providing market certainty for industry stakeholders. Accelerating regulation will play a key role in shaping a sustainable market, positioning EU industries as global leaders in competitiveness and environmental responsibility. 🐾A phase-out of PFAS not only safeguards human health but also prevents further damage to ecosystems and wildlife. ⏰️Now is the time— our health and environment can no longer wait. We call on the new Commission to honour the commitments under the Chemicals Strategy for Sustainability (CSS) to tackle PFAS. #BanPFAS #ToxicFreeFuture

  • On December 3–4, the SGU is hosting the Groundwater Days 2024 conference in Uppsala. This event brings together municipalities, government agencies, county administrations, researchers, businesses, and organizations working on groundwater-related issues. We’re excited to share that our colleague Ilse Postma will attend the conference and present a poster. If you're attending, don’t miss the chance to connect with her and discuss our latest work on groundwater management. We are looking forward to an inspiring event filled with knowledge-sharing and collaboration! 🌍💧 👉Do you want to meet her?: ilse@iflux.be #sweden #groundwater #sgu #grundvattendagarna

  • 📢 🌳 Understanding groundwater dynamics in wetlands is crucial for maintaining their hydrological balance, which supports biodiversity and ecosystem functions. Management practices aiming to conserve or restore the ecological status strongly depend on estimates of groundwater flow. At the BioFlow conference, iFLUX founder Goedele Verreydt will present the iFLUX sensor, our groundwater flow sensor, with case studies from Poland and Belgium. Poland here we come! 👉Check in via: https://lnkd.in/e3Eu2HS9 #groundwater #wetlands #flow #biodiversity #flux

  • 🧐"Keeping your boots on the ground" is one of the core values of the iFLUX team members. And sometimes, those boots nearly end up underwater! Setting up a groundwater monitoring network is one thing—quite pleasant in summery conditions ☀️. Maintaining and managing that same network, however, is a different story. But at iFLUX, we are committed to taking care of our monitoring networks in all kinds of weather 🌦️. And it’s clear that the slightly higher (ground)water levels these days won’t stop us—or our colleague Olivier Goolenaers in particular—from getting the job done! 😉 #groundwatermonitoring #groundwater #sensornetworks
