🌍 How does Indaver create value for its industrial customers? To let them experience it firsthand, we welcomed our customers to the  event 'Together Towards More Sustainability' at the impressive Katoen Natie HeadqARTers in Antwerp, Belgium. Hosted by Francis De Schepper, Director Sales Belgium & Business Development Industrial Waste Services, the event served as both a customer gathering and an inspiration session on sustainable materials management in the circular economy. The program featured insights by: 👉 Hans Bruyninckx, Professor of Environmental Governance at the University of Antwerp on "Resource Efficiency and Circularity: The Forgotten Dimension of the Climate and Sustainability Issue" 👉 Steven De Laet, CEO of INOPSYS NV on Circular Chemistry to provide safe recycling solutions for hazardous wastewater and industrial side streams 👉 Karl Vrancken, Chief Sustainability Officer of Indaver on Corporate Sustainability Reporting and Innovation Strategy. Surrounded by the stunning COBRA art exhibition, participants from various industries exchanged insights and ideas on addressing key challenges in sustainable resource management. “Our P2C plant isn’t just innovation—it’s proof that circularity can work at scale, bridging the gap between plastic waste and high-quality recycled materials,” says Erik Moerman, Director Sales & Development at Indaver Plastics2Chemicals. 🔹 Why #P2C matters: Our advanced thermochemical process transforms hard-to-recycle plastics, like polystyrene and polyolefines, into high-quality raw materials such as styrene and naphtha. These are essential for producing new, food-safe plastics—an industry game-changer. 🔹 Pioneering at scale: While others have tested chemical recycling on a small scale, Indaver is the first to implement this solution at an industrial level. With decades of experience in waste management and integrated logistics, we’ve built a scalable model to close the material loop efficiently. 🔹 Future plans: Starting with a capacity of 26,000 tons annually, we aim to scale up to 65,000 tons by 2028, supporting Europe’s targets for recycled content in food packaging and driving meaningful change. 📖 Read more about this exciting project in De Tijd (only available in Dutch). 👉 https://lnkd.in/ebPqMv35 #ChemicalRecycling #CircularEconomy #Innovation #Indaver #Plastics2Chemicals #Planet

On November 28th we celebrated the 30th birthday of our Indaver site in Doel, where we recover valuable materials and energy from 1.2 million tons of non-recyclable and non-hazardous waste each year. 🗨️Roel Van de Voorde and Saskia Bressinck organised the “table of Roel and Saskia”, an incredible panel featuring both current and former Indaver legends! Wim ooms (Plant Manager, since 2001) and Bjorn Van Ombergen (Coordinator Maintenance, since 1997) shared their experiences as long-standing team members. Ronny Ansoms, our former CEO, took us back to the early days of Indaver Doel. A surprise guest, Luc Mampaey, delighted the audience with his vivid stories and unmatched site knowledge. The lively discussions explored questions like: 🔍 Why was Doel chosen as a location? 🔍 What led to the development of our grate incineration and fluidised bed technology? 🔍 How has energy recovery evolved since the early days? Looking ahead, Plant Manager Wim shared his vision for the site's future: 💡 Opportunities in lamp recycling, ash treatment, and expanding our steam network. 🌱The potential role of CO2 capture to further cement Doel's leadership in sustainable waste management. The event concluded with champagne and a retro-style buffet, bringing everyone together to toast to 30 incredible years and a bright future ahead. 🥂 Here’s to 30 years of innovation, teamwork, and impact at Indaver Doel! #IndaverDoel #Celebrating30 #Innovation #WasteManagement #Teamwork #LookingBack #People
