🌍🎉In collaboration with our French partner Lianes coopération, we have launched a free toolbox on Active Citizenship for Youth Workers, as part of an Erasmus+ Cooperation project for youth. The toolbox provides facilitators with tools to encourage youth to become active citizens. Active citizenship helps to build an inclusive and resilient society, in which individuals have the opportunity to become involved and feel responsible for their own environment. The toolbox is structured around the following themes: talents, rights, sustainable development goals and action. In North and South Kivu, Democratic Republic of Congo, small-scale agriculture is the cornerstone of livelihoods but faces growing challenges from climate change. With unpredictable rains, floods, and prolonged droughts, farming in this conflict-affected region is under immense pressure. The project "Mazingira, maisha yetu" (Swahili for "the environment, our life") led by KIYO and local partner ADED, equips young farmers with the tools to tackle these challenges head-on. By adopting sustainable agricultural practices such as crop diversification, agroecology, and climate-resilient crops, they are transforming their communities. Together with multi-stakeholder committees, these young changemakers are developing climate adaptation plans that strengthen food security and natural resource management. 💡 Want to know more? Today is the Universal Children's Day ! An occasion to shine a light on the rights and well-being of our youngest generations. 💚📣On 20 October we hosted four very enthusiastic youth at our office during the YOUCA vzw action day ! It was an opportunity to bring together the many opinions, ideas and experiences the Belgian youth have and to reflect on topics such as an inclusive vision on talents, children & youth’s rights and youth action. We asked each youth to share with us a quote and/or a song that speaks to them personally as youth.
