You hear “pillars” and you think of the Roman Empire? Relax, we’re not rebuilding ancient Rome, we’re just talking about the mobility budget! 💰🚲 It is built on three pillars, which define what an employee can get as part of the mobility budget and chose between Pillar 1 and 2. 🚗 Pillar 1: “Eco-friendly” company car. With company cars still dominating the landscape in Belgium, this is probably the most used pillar. It allows employees to choose either an electric or low-emission company car. 🏠 Pillar 2: Sustainable mobility and housing costs. Employees choose how they want to spend their budget on all sustainable mobility options, but also for their rent or mortgage payments (conditions apply). 💸 Pillar 3: The Cash-out. This is not a choice to make, but a mandatory year-end payback on any employee’s leftover budget (taxed at 38.07%).
