  • The new technical specifications and procedures will allow each Member State to build a robust framework for the #certification of their own digital wallet compatible with the European standard ! 💡 In order to work seamlessly across borders, Member States need to rely on the implementing legislation adopted (a common set of specifications) : - Integrity and core functionalities 🥇 - Protocols and interfaces to be supported 🔄 - Personal identification data and electronic attestations of attributes 👮♀️ - Trust Framework 🔐 - Certification ✅ This is great news for the development of European Digital Identity Wallet! We're really looking forward to carrying out interoperability tests in the near future, which will bring us one step closer to the practical implementation of #EUDIW! ⚡️ #DigitalIdentity #eIDAS #Potential4EUDIW #Innovation #Europe #Digitalisation

Huge news! The commission has adopted implementing regulations that detail the core functionalities of European Digital Identity Wallets as well as how certification will work. This means citizens can now expect wallets by the end of 2026! Read the official release below. https://lnkd.in/e4mhZ9NQ

  • 🛫 Digital identity used by airlines and airports: take-off imminent? At the IATA annual conference in Bangkok, bringing together the airline ecosystem last October, Philippe Nieto, European E-wallet manager at France Titres - Agence nationale des titres sécurisés - ANTS and deputy COO at Potential, presented the latest developments in the wallet. The aim was to promote the European and French vision of digital identity, centered around security and privacy. Using digital identity, airlines should be able to carry out identity checks quickly and reliably during check-in, security checks and boarding. This won't only improve the efficiency and fluidity of the process for passengers, but should also enhance security by reducing the risk of fraud and ensuring more rigorous authenticated checks. 💡 The International Air Transport Association (IATA) plays a crucial role in the air transport industry by facilitating cooperation between airlines, setting standards, and helping to make flight operations more efficient and safer. #DigitalIdentity #EUDIWallet #Potential4EUDIW #Europe #Digitalisation

🌍 Wonderful news from Sydney! Our Project Coordinator, Florent TOURNOIS, attended the International Identity and Verifiable Credentials (IVC24) Summit last week, organized by Austroads, to discuss interoperability and ISO compliance. Alongside engaging conferences, participants had the opportunity to conduct interoperability tests, which benefited everyone involved. The outcome was strengthened connections across continents, with potential for collaboration and interoperability extending beyond Europe, highlighting Potential as an outstanding initiative on the global stage. #IVC24 #Interoperability #ISOCompliance #GlobalCollaboration #Potential4EUDIW

  • ✨ On September 19-20th, Vidua, in collaboration with the Potential team, on behalf of Trusted Information Partners hosted an hackathon in The Hague, gathering over 40 architects and developers from 12 EU Member States to work on our use case about qualified e-signature🌍💳. During this event, we: ✔️ Demonstrated cross-border interoperability, enabling seamless integration between different European wallet implementations and trust service providers for qualified electronic signatures. ✔️ Developed a proof of concept where a citizen from one EU country successfully opened a bank account in another EU country using a qualified signature! 🏦 ✔️ Demonstrated that the existing market for qualified electronic signatures and QSCDs is ready to support eIDAS 2.0 for both non-professional and professional usage. 🛡️ A huge thank you to all the participants, including 5 Qualified Trust Service Providers (QTSPs), government representatives, host Vidua and sponsor SBR Nexus, for making this event a success 👏. #WalletQES #EUDIWallet #DigitalIdentity #Hackathon #eIDAS #Potential4EUDIW #Innovation #Europe #Digitalisation

  • 🆕 A new milestone for the implementation of the European Digital Identity Wallet (EUDIW) The France Titres - Agence nationale des titres sécurisés - ANTS participated in the EUDI Framework Standardisation Workshop, organized by ETSI and CEN and CENELEC, from September 10 to 12 in Sophia Antipolis. 🌍 This workshop brought together several hundred international experts in digital identity, security, and data privacy. The goal of the standardization bodies is to develop the necessary technical standards for the implementation of the EUDIW, which will be rolled out across the European Union by 2028. 🔐 The various use cases include ID cards, passports, driver's licenses, vehicle registration documents, as well as many other applications in the fields of healthcare, transportation, electronic payments, and any service requiring user identification. • Last Friday, the representatives of the POTENTIAL consortium were at the European Commission to present the progress report after the first year of the project. 💡 This was a great opportunity to reflect on the key milestones, the development of the six use cases, and the upcoming major steps. A big thank you to Agnieszka Bajno Connor F. Alberto Zanini, Anders Tornqvist for their insightful comments and feedback. 🤝 It was also a chance to bring together in person the national representatives and work package leaders, allowing for informal discussions that are key to the project's growth and success. 🚀 While we await the official feedback from the reviewers, we continue our efforts towards achieving an interoperable digital identity across Europe!

From June 26th to 28th, representatives of the architecture and infrastructure team (WP2) from various Member States met at the Frankfurt Airport Conference to collaborate on two prominent topics: the Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) definition and the demo wallet infrastructure. 🛠️✨ Under the guidance of the work package 2 lead team, the participants jointly reviewed remote and proximity Business Process Modeling and Notation (BPMN) flows for all use cases, sequence diagrams for issuance and presentation, and corresponding API reference profiles. 📊📈 Significant progress was made on the trust model by getting a step closer to identifying options for a POTENTIAL trust framework. Additionally, (Q)EAA rule books for testing as well as the readiness checklist for all Member States were also covered. ✅📑 A huge thank you to everyone involved for their dedication and teamwork! 🙌👏
